Why I Decided to Start as a Photo Editor?
"Life is meant to help you build a better life. It is never designed to be against you nor to be your worst enemy." At least this is a firm belief I've held since facing my greatest disappointment about a year ago. It's comforting for me to believe life works out for me in some way, some form. I decided months ago I was going to build myself a better life after discovering some wonderful, playful aspects of myself I wasn't aware were there. I had experiences that showed me how much I missed photography and videography of which I used to do a lot more frequently over a year prior. I've begun to find a regular job to work for the time being, resulting in my first couple of checks being saved up to purchase a slightly used Nikon D7000 from its previous owner on the Facebook Marketplace for $350 bucks total.

Not So Professional Picture
There are many things I am good at; writing, social media, and things that are best not discussed in this essay. However, there are some things that I lack enough knowledge about to call myself good or even adequate at. Playing games (DnD and apparently shooter video games are among my weakest) and photography. After taking a picture of the New York City skyline from a friend's apartment, many people encouraged me to try professional photography as a side hustle.

Passion Fruit
My name is Krenar. I am a 25-year-old Aries male. As you can tell from my picture, I am a photographer. I wasn’t always though. It had found me in my darkest moment. Before having a passion for anything I was a lifeless zombie 🧟♂️ constantly working for who knows what reason. I worked and worked and worked countless jobs for a reason I can’t even begin to explain; maybe there was no reason, maybe I was just working because it was what I was supposed to do from societies standpoint. I had worked over 25 to 30 different jobs from the age of 16 until now, at 25. It is a considerable amount of moving around. I was trying to look for a place to set my feet down permanently, but just felt so out of place. The reason for this was the fruit I would find later in my journey of growth. To say who I am is a dreamer and an optimist. I try to look for unknowingly talented individuals and encourage them with the best of my energy to get them moving to where I know they will be. I got lost at some point in my life, add a few more wrong turns, and finally, I am here writing to you. So, the worst moment of my life—and I’m sure that it was for many of you as well—is when you find out what that wall is that’s hurting you and blocking you from your final goal, destination, finish line, etc. Mine was battling myself and fighting the fact that I was a spectator and observer. Rather than accepting this at an early age, instead I rebelled against our more intelligent intuition (gut feeling) to have more experience in my own personal development, which so heavily weighted on my being. I am grateful for all I have gone through, but as we all wish for, less heartache would be better. I had lost everything I had built multiple times. Four to be exact. My car, girlfriend, social life, job/career, and another piece of my soul withered away from each experience. I had felt as if my soul was being withered away from my existence.

Art Is Evolutionary
Seven years ago I started taking photography classes in high school, not knowing the amazing skills I would eventually learn and the type of work I would start making. Originally from San Diego California, I moved to Williamsburg, Virginia when I was about 6-years-old. I remember being fairly young going to the Filipino cultural center with my grandparents where I would go around taking photos of everyone at the parties they so often had on a Polaroid my grandparents gave me. I would then sell the candid snapshots for a dollar and make bank at the end of the night and cash out at “Toys’ r Us” the next day... specifically on “Ben 10” action figures.
