The world is a beautiful place.
Most of all the sights that I love the most are of the sea and sky. The way the water will move and sway at different points of the day or night always held me in its grasp.
One day we had heard that a storm would be rolling in and I was always one to watch out for them. Never shy of them or afraid. I love to hear the wind battering the exterior siding echoing its ferocity within. Appreciation of the warm blanket usually wrapped around my shoulders I would sit and watch the clouds roll in.
Tornadoes are not uncommon in the prairies and at certain times of year the sky is teaming with not only the migration of birds but full of cumulous vapours that dance by at speeds that seem slow to the naked eye, yet to be up in them you would certainly be buffeted about within them.
It had been said that the rain would be sporadic, so I had decided to go for a walk. Wind caught my hair slightly as I walked along the pathways to get a better view of the clouds.
It amazes me the colours that can be seen in the clouds when a storm is coming in or passing by to unfurl itself and become a deluge somewhere usually to the east of where I call home.
That day I looked up to see the formations forming in clouds and I couldn’t help but to admire the beauty of the sky. The clouds were mercurial, dark and were moving fast.
I was able to get a couple of good shots before the rain started.
Luckily, it wasn’t too cold, and my fingers didn’t feel as if they would cramp holding up the phone to take the pictures. I had stopped along the path near some pine trees that sheltered me somewhat from the wind and made it possible for me to really take in the wonder of what I was seeing that day.
A part of me will always want to chase the wind and storms that come in. My next project or picture of luck will hopefully be of some aurora borealis or lightning. While these things might unnerve some, I have always been attracted to these phenomena and I would love to be able to capture some great photographs of it someday. Sharing them with others would be a bonus!
I can honestly say that the picture did capture my state of mind at the time and I will always love undulating clouds grey and mysterious welling into view.
Creatively inspirational is one thing I would say about the “feeling” of it. I will wonder if others think the same.
Please have no worry or cause for concern. Everyone was able to get home or to work and the storm mostly past by without so much as a spattering in the face. To my bones it still makes me smile when I see someone offer an umbrella to another while having nothing for themselves.
On a lighter note I hope anyone that sees clouds like these in the picture I am submitting get to a warm place. Hopefully it’s a cabin in the woods somewhere where you won’t be bothered unless you want to be and you have all the music and munchies to keep you company before you create your next masterpiece. If any are thinking the mountains right now, you might be on the same track I am on.
Please accept this submission and I hope you like the photo!
