Con Man
GalaxyCon Raleigh 2022 I will never forget the day I took this picture. It was truly a return to form. So imagine this: in the year 2020 Covid strikes and the world is now living under the mandates of a pandemic. We all remember how that went right? Social distancing and very limited contact in public places to lower the risk of exposure to the coronavirus.

Did You Know the Universe Dispenses Extra-Special Yummies?
A predictable state of being is a coat that constricts over time, often remaining camouflaged beneath conscious awareness until it becomes suffocating. Then, you do eccentric things and people think you mad when you’re just an allegorical kitten with a bad case of the ‘zoomies.’ – The Dani Writer made up this quote 'heck-minutes' ago.

Teenage Me vs. the Technological Apocalypse
Going through old boxes of life’s accumulated detritus can uncover forgotten scraps of the past and send one down a rollercoaster of intense personal sentimentality, which is why I tend to put it off. It’s more than just the cringe of seeing one’s former-self, or worse, reading things this familiar stranger has written. These discoveries may cause pangs of embarrassment, especially when it is a collection of relics from one’s teenage years, but it is important to pardon oneself by remembering that the person so revealed, in form or thought, was subject not just to the zeitgeist of the era, but also existed without the benefit of a fully developed brain.

Southport Memories
I first heard about Southport, North Carolina when I was reading one of Nicholas Sparks novels called Safe Haven. While reading the book I saw so many similarities between me and the main character Katie and everything she’s been through. I went through a lot of hurt myself and I was in a bad relationship at one point myself, and there were a bunch of times I wasn’t sure if I would ever fall in love again. Because the trust, love, and protection had been shattered, and I wasn’t sure if it could be fixed. But just like Katie it did, and I too found someone better that could never hurt me or break my heart again. After watching the movie adaptation and seeing the story brought to life I wondered if I would ever go there someday. My opportunity finally came because there was an event in Wilmington I got invited to attend. I knew Southport wasn’t too far from Wilmington and I decided to stay in Southport while there for the weekend.

Anima. Runner-Up in Through the Lens Challenge.
I want to witness the anima. No, that isn't right. I want to dip my hands into the ether running through the neurons of every creature's sparking thoughts and swim through their consciousness until I understand the vices of their being. I want to rip it free and chew on it until I've tasted every last molecule. It's an obsession. The yearning is so deep it terrifies me. It still isn't right. I want to hold hands with her soul.

My Winter Wonderland. Top Story - January 2025.
I love snow. I've come to learn that it's not a popular opinion among adults in my part of the world. And I do understand why. It causes a lot of problems: slick roads, downed power lines, roof damages. It also slows everything down. But I think I rather appreciate that part. I also think it's beautiful. I'm of the mindset that if it's going to be freezing outside it might as well look pretty.
