Zhenyuan Ancient Town! One of the top ten ancient towns in China! Shiping Mountain has been looking far away, and it is so beautiful to watch the sunset night scene.
For centuries, poets and literati have been captivated by the charm of ancient towns in Jiangnan, and their writings have portrayed these towns as "dreamy water villages, depicted with ink and brush." This sentiment has attracted an increasing number of travelers who are enchanted by the allure of Jiangnan. Among the numerous ancient towns in Guizhou, Sichuan, and Chongqing, Zhenyuan Ancient Town stands out with its unparalleled beauty of "breathtaking mountains and extraordinary waters," leaving visitors lingering and reluctant to leave, creating unforgettable memories.
The water in Zhenyuan is a vivid shade of green, meandering gracefully through the ancient town like a translucent emerald necklace, as if it has been left behind by the divine. As the morning glow appears, the dark river reflects a crimson hue, resembling a shy young girl who has yet to put on her green veil. The sound of oars, "yo-yo-ya-ya," announces the fishermen setting out at dawn, their paddles "pat-pat" against the water, breaking the tranquility of the early morning.
The people of Zhenyuan are talented in singing and dancing, warm-hearted and hospitable, and they seem to have an infinite capacity for alcohol. Their saying, "People in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou don't believe in tears; people in Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan don't believe in getting drunk," reflects their refined tastes. The emerald waves dance in Cuiping, and the warmth of the ducks can be felt at the mouth of the arched bridge. The laughter and chattering of village women embroidering by the river soar through the air.
Tranquil riverside ancient towns often serve as the backdrop for the beginning of youthful romance in movies and dramas. Those simple moments of happiness may unfold on the old bridge in the wind, at the dusk of the dock, or along the brilliantly lit riverbank, intertwining hearts and blossoming affections. Regardless of the outcome, whether joy or sorrow, these innocent and beautiful memories are cherished within the timeline of the ancient town.
When you step into Zhenyuan Ancient Town, in addition to enjoying a boat ride to admire the scenery, you can also explore the streets and alleys of the town. Visit the renowned scenic spot Qingyang Cave and delve into the feng shui theories hidden within the grand mansions and courtyards. Ascend the mountain on the opposite bank to overlook Zhenyuan, known as the "Northern Gateway" of Guizhou, and gaze upon the ancient city walls. Indulge in a rare long-table feast at the Baojing Yuzhen Fengqing Garden, and watch a splendid and lively performance of "Water Rhyme in Zhenyuan" in the streets and alleys.
Qinglong Cave is situated on Zhonghe Mountain in the eastern part of Zhenyuan, a city known for its historical and cultural significance. The mountain stands tall with steep cliffs, backed by green mountains and facing clear waters. It features pavilions and terraces every five and ten steps, with curved eaves and exquisitely carved beams. The glazed tiles record the passage of days and nights, while the green stones embrace moss among the clouds. Ancient pines and cypresses accompany flying eaves and mythical beasts, with purple mist swirling as if celestial beings are wandering. To seek enlightenment, one doesn't need the wind and rain; simply come to this place. This is perhaps the most profound impression I have of Qinglong Cave.
As night falls and the city lights up, the once peaceful town gradually comes alive. Compared to the scattered visitors during the day, Zhenyuan Ancient Town at night transforms
