Why Ollie’s Fresh Dog Food Is The Only One Worth Buying
Fresh food is better for your dog than freeze dried, every day.

As a pet parent, nothing is more important than ensuring my dogs are healthy, happy, and full of energy. Over the years, I’ve tried several dog food brands to find the right fit for my two sweet (or spicy?) dogs, Chili and Pepper. Like many dog owners, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect food that checks all the boxes: high-quality ingredients, convenience, and something my dogs genuinely enjoy. This journey led me to discover Ollie, and I’ve honestly never looked back.
Before finding Ollie, I explored a variety of dog foods. When Chili turned one, I realized the kibble initially suggested by our breeder for her puppyhood wasn’t enough. It didn’t excite her, and I felt she deserved better. We tried several brands, including air or freeze-dried options. While Chili didn’t outright reject dried food, her enthusiasm was lukewarm at best. Pepper, on the other hand, had only ever known kibble until she turned one. This made her transition to other foods a bit more challenging, but we were determined to find something both dogs would love.
Enter Ollie. From the moment the box arrived at our door, both Chili and Pepper were curious and excited. I could barely keep them from jumping up and down as I unpacked the meals. When Pepper is eager for a meal, she’ll jump up to two times her height, and so when she did as I unpacked it was clear this was something special. I had to block them from licking the frozen packs too much and getting brain freezes! Both upon opening and simply every meal time, they both seem far more interested and eager to eat this meal than they ever have for freeze-dried or kibble. We opted to try beef, turkey, lamb, and chicken, and they both absolutely loved the lamb! It’s a protein I’d never fed them before, and they could not get enough.

One of my favorite things about Ollie is the convenience. Having fresh, nutritious food delivered right to my door has been a lifesaver. I no longer have to worry about running out of food or making last-minute trips to the store.
But what truly sets Ollie apart from other brands is their gently-cooked method. Unlike freeze-dried food, which needs to be rehydrated before feeding, Ollie’s fresh-cooked meals are simply flash frozen to preserve essential nutrients and need to be thawed to serve. This method allows the food to retain its natural moisture, making it far more appealing to my dogs. The cooking process in Ollie is gentle, preserving more of the essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients compared to the freeze-drying process. I’ve noticed this difference in how much healthier and more vibrant Chili and Pepper have become since switching to Ollie. For example, Chili would sometimes struggle with loose stools when she was on freeze-dried foods, but now her digestion is much more consistent and healthier-looking.

The natural moisture in Ollie’s meals also means that my dogs are getting extra hydration with every bite. This is particularly important for their overall health, especially since they don’t always drink as much water as they should. With freeze-dried food, you have to rehydrate it, but it can be tricky to get the texture just right. Sometimes, if the food isn’t properly rehydrated, it can lead to digestive issues or even dehydration. With Ollie, I don’t have to worry about any of that.
Another thing I love about Ollie is how much more palatable it is for my dogs compared to freeze-dried options. Fresh-cooked meals are closer to what we humans eat, and the aroma and texture make it much more enticing for Chili and Pepper. Pepper, who can jump twice her height when she’s excited for a meal, was practically doing somersaults the first time I served her Ollie. And Chili, who’s usually more reserved, was all tail wags and puppy kisses, making it clear that Ollie was a hit.
Ollie’s fresh-cooked method also means there are no preservatives or artificial additives in the food. Everything is natural and human-grade, which gives me peace of mind knowing I’m feeding my dogs the best possible diet. The human-grade ingredients within the fresh food have also been a huge draw for me. I’ve always been careful about what I feed my dogs, occasionally giving them human foods like carrots and blueberries. Ollie’s food already has real carrots and blueberries in it. I know they’re getting the best, and I no longer need to supplement their meals with extras. Unlike the other options we have tried, which often left her indifferent, Ollie has become the highlight of her day.

After trying various dog food brands, it’s clear that Ollie is the best choice for us. The combination of high-quality ingredients, the benefits of the fresh-cooked method, convenience, and the fact that my dogs absolutely love it makes Ollie stand out.
