Why Children Need a Dog
You Should Get Your Children A Puppy

Most children decide that they need a new puppy at some point in their lives. They may pester their parents for months until they finally decide to give in. Others hold off as long as they possibly can because they don't think that they have the time for a new puppy. They may not want to be in charge of another living thing!
That being said, there are many reasons why you should consider getting your children a puppy. These include the following.
It teaches them responsibility. Having a dog to take care of will make them think of someone other than themselves. Many children can start to feed a dog (with supervision) when they are just a few years old.
As they get older, they can take them for walks and help to clean up after them. As they grow up, they can do more and more for their dog, until they are able to fully take care of him or her.
A dog will offer them friendship and love. A dog will be a good friend for your children, even through the difficult teenage years when they do not feel like anyone loves them. They will quickly learn that their dog will love them no matter what. This will also help to teach your children about unconditional love and acceptance.

You may even notice that your children become more social as they interact with their new puppy. Children will learn from watching their puppies interact with others. They will learn that there is nothing wrong with greeting new people.
As your children learn to read the cues from dogs, they will start to think about watching people as they interact with them. They may notice when people are done talking or when they need more attention.
Your children will also learn compassion. As your dog grows and lives his or her life, he or she will experience many different things. There are going to be times when your dog doesn't feel well. Your children may learn to comfort them and may help you care for him or her when needed.
A dog will help to keep your kids active. While many children love to watch television and play video games, many parents struggle to find ways to get them away from the living room. A dog will help to keep your children more active. They will want to take the dog for walks and also play ball with the dog. Many dogs also enjoy running and playing in the yard with children.

There are so many reasons to get your children a dog. It will teach them responsibility. They will have to help you take care of their new puppy. Even if they are young, your children should be able to feed the puppy. If they are older, they may be able to help with potty training and taking their new puppy outside for walks and exercise.
Your children will also learn a lot about friendship and love, even when they feel like no one loves them. They will have someone in their corner, no matter what. They may also learn to be more social, like their new puppy. Your children may also learn compassion, as they take care of their puppy throughout his or her life.
However, one of the best reasons to get a puppy is to keep your children active. Instead of sitting in front of the television or video games, your children will have to take their puppy outside to play and get exercise. Many dogs love playing ball, and your children could spend hours playing with their dog.
