One little dog, One big ❣

Who would have thought that seeing and add on the local buy/swap and sell site for and old BBQ would have started such a wonderful life experience and saved a little life.

Living on a remote Queensland property with limited life experience at doing this had already been an adventure. My husband, who is on a disability pension and I thought it might be a life changing thing to do so we rented 48 acres in the middle of no where with the nearest town an hour an a half away.

We had hardly any furniture and very little money. We needed to save wherever we could so decided to look for a BBQ online. As we have found in the past the things that we need usually just happen to turn up when we need them. Online we saw an add for an old BBQ, that needed a clean up but worked and would save us money on our power bill.

We hooked up the trailer and headed down the partly flooded dirt road, in the rain and wind. Cyclone “Debbie” was on the way and we only had a narrow window in time to get this done, before the roads would be closed.

After an hour of interesting travel on dirt roads, through thick bush, with kangaroos launching themselves into the car and trailer in an attempt to get to shelter from the violent storm that was about to hit us, we arrived at our destination.

“Frank”,the man who had placed the add met us at the property gate. He was soaking wet, his truckers cap pulled down over his face and he did not talk, just gestured us to follow. I was now a little worry if this was the best idea?? When we reached the one bedroom cabin in the thick bush my anxiety doubled.

“Frank”, then opened my door, with a big smile on his face and said,”You look like you need a coffee.”lol, now true. Dav, was in his sixties, dress in old work clothes and were his nose should been there was a gaping hole. I was taking back, but the huge smile on his face and his happy dimeana soften the shock I felt.

The cabin was dark, dusty and damp inside, but ”Frank, was friendly and welcoming and had already put on the jug, ready for a cuppa.
