Seriously? You left me home alone again?
Ever wonder what a dog thinks?

Ginger rolled over her back onto her other side, and sighed. She always slept in late, with her humans leaving her breakfast in her food bowl before they left. Grunting, Ginger stretched out her front paws first, then her rear paws.
The little dachshund yawned and got up from the little dog bed, which was worn but cozy. She waddled over to the short tray, with two bowls resting on the raised platform. Ginger took a big drink of water, which was now lukewarm, then moved on to her breakfast. After eating a few bites, she waddled towards the living room, where a little ramp helped her climb onto the high couch.
She flopped down on top of a small stack of pillows, then burped and rolled onto her back. Her ears flopped down, so that she could hear the soft ticking of what the humans called a 'clock', and the humming of the 'washer'. Ginger yawned again, then licked her lips and rolled off the pillows onto the bottom cushion of the couch.
Ginger shifted into a comfortable position, then picked her head up and surveyed the room. She had been doing this for centuries, or months, or minutes. She didn't know time as well as humans; she was a dog!
The room Ginger now occupied had two rounded couches, the first one with a small ramp leaning next to where the armrest should be, and pillows decorated each one. There was a creepy blue fish staring at her from the wall, which the humans really seemed to love. There was a shiny thing attached to the wall, which would fill with life and color when the sun was low in the sky.
Now, the little dachshund growled at the fish, which continued to stare at her, eyes unblinking. Ginger unwillingly entered the same staring contest she had every time she climbed up on the couch, and she lost. Like always. Growling at the fish one last time, Ginger turned over and started to think.
She had always been a good dog. She never spilt her food and left it there, and she never destroyed any furniture, though she would shed on the couch all the time. She had only once brought her humans a present, which caused them to freak out. The present had been a dead rabbit that she had dug up and caught from a hole in the corner of her yard.
Getting up from the couch, Ginger grabbed her little bird toy, which squeaked when she bit down on it, and waddled to a door behind the couches. There was a dog door built into it, and she waddled through the door, to a long row of small cliffs, which led down into a dark area, though Ginger could see rather well down there. Sighing around the toy, Ginger started descending the row of cliffs, taking them one at a time until she reached the wood on the bottom, which made a clicking sound every time she put a paw down.
Ginger waddled behind the cliffs, where there was a small mouse nest hidden. The dachshund dropped the toy and barked, which caused the mice to scatter. Though the mice were quick, Ginger was quicker. She caught one, then two, then three of the mice, and brought them to the bottom of the cliffs. From there, Ginger grabbed her toy and waddled back up the cliffs, which took much longer than going down, and emerged back through the dog door into the sunlight.
The dog waddled back through the house, to her bowls, where she took another big drink of water and ate a few more bites of her breakfast. Then, she waddled through another dog door, which opened up into an unfenced yard. Ginger dropped her toy on the dirt road, which the large vroom machines traveled on, and licked her toy. Then, she turned around and went back inside.
For the rest of the time her humans were away, Ginger made small messes here and there. When she was finally tired of doing those small tasks, she curled up on the couch and fell asleep.
Ginger awoke to the sound of slapping on the floor, and saw her humans' feet on the ground. She rolled onto her belly and barked playfully, then rolled onto her back, smiled, and let her tongue roll out of her mouth, as her humans seemed to love. The smaller one gasped in joy, and rushed forward to pet Ginger. Panting happily, Ginger licked her owner's hand, and then received more pettings.
There came a loud noise from another room, which caused the smaller human to stop petting Ginger. Ginger licked the human's hand, but the human stood and walked into the next room. The dachshund rolled back onto her stomach and forced herself up and off the couch. She waddled into the other room with her owners, where her pile of food was left on the ground. Ginger forgot she had spit that up...
The dog waddled forward and began to eat the remains of her breakfast, before she was picked up and carried into the room with the couches. And the fish. Ginger barked at the fish and squirmed, and when she was set down, Ginger pawed at the wall and continued barking at the fish. Her owners laughed, and they pulled her away from the wall, where she was petted by both humans, and she rolled over, happy, and let her humans give her belly rubs until the sun started fading in the sky, when the humans got up and called her into the next room.
Ginger followed, and she was given more food, with a little glob of stick brown goop, which she loved, and ate it all up. Then, she followed wandered back to her dog bed, where she slept the night away, happily...
