Ollie is Better than the 5 Other Brands We’ve Tried. Here’s Why.

Cannot recommend Ollie dog food enough.

Feeding canine athletes is not rocket science, but it does require us to be very mindful of what kind of food we are putting in their bodies so they can look, feel and perform their best during their long competition careers.

My dogs compete in a plethora of different sports, and when we are not competing, we are conditioning and preparing for them! My dogs give me their all every day, so the least I can do is feed them the very best food on the market. I have spent countless hours researching different brands of food to feed my pack of athletic pups, and it has not always been an easy task to find a brand that not only works for my highly active sport dogs, but a food that also works for my senior pups who enjoy snuggling on the couch a little more than chasing down a frisbee, or jumping off a dock. Here are just a couple of the key points that led me to feel confident that Ollie is the best food for my diverse pack of pups.

Ollie is made with 100% human-grade ingredients. This is non-negotiable for me, as the list of benefits of such high quality ingredients are never ending! Human-grade ingredients in dog food typically consist of meats, fruits, and vegetables that are minimally processed. In addition to this, Ollie does not contain by-products, fillers, or artificial flavors in its products! In turn, these clean ingredients make Ollie easier for dogs to digest compared to other, highly processed foods. Easily digestible foods help your dog to absorb nutrients better as well, which is an absolute must for not only sport dogs, but all dogs to feel their best.

Yum.

As I mentioned before, I have a very diverse pack of dogs who all have slightly different health or caloric needs in their diet. Ollie works with veterinary nutritionists to create tailored meals for each of my pups, taking each dog’s weight, body composition, breed, age, and activity level into consideration when creating their AAFCO-approved meal plans. As if this was not a big enough selling point for me, Ollie’s fresh meals also come prepackaged, which makes feeding time extremely easy. With caring for five dogs, I am always looking for convenient ways to save time so that I can dedicate as much time as possible to spending quality time with my pups. With Ollie, I am no longer having to spend those precious minutes scooping out processed dog food out of a container, or adding multiple different supplements to ensure it is balanced. Our new and improved feeding routine takes merely seconds thanks to Ollie, plus it only has two steps; thaw and feed!

My pups have been eating Ollie for quite a while now, and in these months I have noticed incredible differences in multiple different ways; not only just in their physical appearance, but in their performances as well! Since starting Ollie, their coats have become much shinier, their poop is much smaller, breath less stinky, and their endurance during training is exceptionally higher. In addition to all of these amazing things, and most importantly, they are always so excited for mealtime! Something that was once repetitive and boring has become their absolute favorite time of day. Their fresh meal plans allow me to be able to freeze their meals into enrichment toys, or pack into a cooler to bring with us to sporting events as a mid-day, hydrating snack.

He knows his favorite food is coming, which is why his tongue is sticking out!

This leads me to one of the biggest notable changes I’ve seen in any of my dogs: my ten year old boy, Gunner, has always struggled with so many different food sensitivities ever since he was a small puppy. He’s been on dozens of different brands over the years in an effort to find the best fit for him, but nothing quite compares to how well Gunner does on Ollie. He’s almost like a brand new dog; a luscious coat (which has always been a struggle for him to maintain), healthy joints, I have noticed he has far less tear stains, and he has the energy of a puppy. I think part of that has to do with the fact that he’s retaining more of the energy he’s producing, because he’s requiring less energy for digestion. Olle’s recipes include human-grade proteins that make dogs’ gut do less work when breaking down macronutrients, so they can use their energy to run around instead.

Back in 2021, he was diagnosed with a few health disorders. His veterinarian recommended we seek out food with clean ingredients, which is part of the reason we started with Ollie. It’s just overall healthier for my dogs. I focused on getting him to try Ollie’s chicken and carrots recipe, which is the lowest in fat and uses long-grain white rice to aid in digestion. So far he’s absolutely loving it!

Here's Gunner behaving; he cannot wait to open it!

Overall, I have been so incredibly thrilled with our experience of feeding Ollie. It has been a brand that each of my pups thrive on, from champion disc dog, to senior couch potato companion; this is definitely the brand they will stay on for life. At our sporting events, I am often asked what I feed my dogs since they always appear to be in such great shape. I am always so proud to say that my pups are fueled by Ollie! If you are interested in discovering the healthiest version of your dog, I would definitely recommend trying out Ollie for your pup as well!

I try to ensure that my dogs have the best food available to them, since they are pets and dogs that have "jobs." I had never heard of Ollie, but I'm going to look into it!
