HUNGRY CAT BEHAVIOUR

Pets, especially cats, have their own way of telling their masters that they are hungry or to just ask for a snack. Indeed, the behavior of pets, especially cats when hungry, can vary. But almost in general everything is the same. Here are some cat behaviors that are hungry or asking for food.

1. Walking follows and tends to circle our feet. So it will interfere with our steps.

2. If we are silent, he will rub his head against our feet or hands.

3. Another behavior is that he will meow continuously, until he gets the attention of his master. Although some cats don't like to meow and prefer to come closer or jump on our laps.

4. If there is no master he will tend to get confused and hide under a table, chair, or something else.

Some people notice that when a cat is truly hungry may have a certain type of insistent meow, or may hang around pawing at its food bowl or where its food may be stored. When food is offered, a hungry cat will eat quickly.

One thing that is important, if he does not get food soon, then he will run out of the house to look for food. If this happens, then we must immediately look for him around the house, where he usually likes to roam.

Cats are smarter than you may think, and if you feed them around the same time every day, they'll know when it's mealtime. 1 Meowing, crying, and staring at you until you put food in its bowl are things a hungry cat is great at doing.

Cats also rub against humans after eating food as an act of gratitude or an expression of affection. A cat could also be marking you as its own property. Cats aren't shy about requesting food, usually with verbalization. Even if a cat is quiet, it will meow for food.

A cat may rub against you to let you know that they want something. If they are hungry, they might rub against you to remind you that it is dinner time. They may also just do this when they want some sort of attention, whether they want to play or just want you to rub them back.

DEALING WITH A GREEDY CAT

It can be difficult for pet parents to spot the difference between a hungry cat and a greedy cat. If you’re satisfied that the amount they are eating should be satisfying their appetite – yet they are still crying ‘hungry’ – you will need to take a closer look at your cat’s eating habits.

Eating the occasional extra piece of food isn’t going to do too much harm, but if your cat begins regularly straying into overeating territory then a whole host of health problems could soon follow.

The simplest solution is to assess their current diet. Are they getting the right amount of essential nutrients needed to satiate their appetite? Cats thrive on a complete and well-balanced diet; one that’s full of rich, high-quality protein and brimming with natural ingredients. Always ensure they have access to fresh water at all times, too.

Instead of leaving food in bowls for your cat, try and incorporate a bit of exercise around mealtime. Play fetch, or hide and seek, with pieces of kibble. This can make mealtime a bit more challenging – and therefore gratifying for them – while increased activity will help keep the weight off.

You may want to look at the amount of extra food you are feeding them. Treats should not make up more than 20% of a cat’s daily diet, so always bear this in mind. Keep treats healthy as well. Our Whole Tuna Loin is 100% tuna, 100% natural; the perfect tasty reward for your cat.
