Just The Two of Us
A Pet Perspective on Companionship

Hi Humans,
My name is Ivory Neal but I like to be called Ivy. I am a Jackshund (Jack Russell Terrier and Dachshund). In 2013, I was sentenced to death by Dog Police but I saved my mom Shaleita. She called the kill shelter to adopt me after she found out that she have children.

Initially, I tried to escape or explore. Now I love my life. My mom spoiled me with belly rubs and food. I was super skinny…like rib cage skinny. I always get new toys and treats every month…Bark something.
I ALWAYS get what I want because I legit have puppy dog eyes. She can’t say no to me…

One thing I know about my mom is the she love the month of October. She is a Libra too. I think I am Taurus-Gemini but no birth records due to my adoption. I am stubborn for attention and love clothes like my mom. We have been social distancing prior to pandemic. We moved to Augusta from Atlanta. Currently, my mom doesn’t have friends due that reason. Also being disabled 4x stroke survivor with chronic pain so she stopped working as teacher. That okay with me, more time and attention.

Back to my mom (we both have ADHD)…part Jack Russell, remember? She told me about this Critter Costume challenge in October. My mom is a part #TeamExtra. She told me her name hieroglyphs is Hehet (Goddess of The Immeasurable). She is former overachiever and perfectionist. Our life changing drastically after her 4 strokes but clearly that is still in her personality. Hence the 3 different costumes with full makeup on Halloween. I understand my mom’s passion even though after the adrenaline worn off…we slept for the day afterwards. She missed the submission deadline but I know she was so happy!
Costumes Details
Anime Villains
Naruto is our favorite anime. Our first costume for Legendary Sannin and a former member of the terrorist organization Akatsuki Orochimaru. I am his snake Mandy. We are villains! My mom had to the Hidden Leaf jacket for Hot Topic. Used her purple cardigan for belt. We use her snake skin tight for my costume. This was my mom first time doing anime cosplay makeup.

Tim Burton Special
I am dog from Nightmare Before Christmas. My mom was teal/green hair so dressed as modern and stylish Beetjuice. No picture only video…I was sleeping but my hear gear light up. My costume was purchased at Target. My mom used her clothes.
Mother of a Dragon
My mom is huge fan of Game of Thrones. She started watching after rehab in 2016 with my ex dad. That was also her books after my 4 strokes. She love House Stark and Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen—Mother of Dragons. I love the dragon wings from Target and 2 bows from Petsmart. My mom uses old Medusa costume for 30th birthday party in 2013.

Holiday Helpers
This Christmas cosplay photo session has a whole backstory. I didn’t get the opportunity to meet my grandma. Her birthday was on Christmas. She died 2 two days after turn 46 in 2008, before I was born. I wonder if she would like me? My great grandmother is coming around. Even thought she is owner of my nemesis…whole cat lady. Last night we made a Athens visit was Mother’s Day 2020.

This pandemic is taking my drive time away. Social distancing for 2 years now….no people to visit .
Back to describing our costumes. My mom got my holiday outfit years ago. She is obsessed with styling, makeup, music of any Fenty brand. Rihanna is my pet’s real but imaginary friend. Pieces from Savage X Fenty, the artist’s lingerie line was a part of her attire. Basically I was nice and my mom was naughty. She did the Tik Tok Silhouette challenge later that day without me of course. I am proud that she is embracing her body.

Future Cosplay Memories
Looking forward to cosplay of Kiba and Akamaru. No costume for me…same color as dog character.

Akamaru and I differ because I stop hearing when I smelling nature. I tend to get lost in smell and run to far from our new house with cedar fence. Right now, the fence is damage due to first wind storm of 2022. The gate was open due to wind. I strolled to neighborhood by myself. I didn’t meant to stress my mom out. She was so worried about.
This Halo collar is great gift for mom. To give her a piece of mind whenever I am reminiscing about the smells of my homeless days…having this collar will help to locate me. Maybe this prize money will get the doggie door installed
