He loves us more

Sorry mom

We got to keep you.

My family and I decided to go to our local animal shelter with my mom. She wanted to check out the dogs to bring one home to help keep the raccoons off her deck. They had quite a few dogs to choose from but only one was the most beautiful. Tigger was the sweetest dog of all, so timid and calm.

We all decided to get him out of his kennel to take outside to see how he would interact with everyone, including my moms little Chihuahua Jaycy. The meet and greet went great. We all fell in love with Tigger, even Jaycy. My mom decided he was the one and filled out the necessary paperwork and out the door we went.

First picture I took of Tigger 🙂

We all headed back to my house to spend some time with Tigger before my mom took him home. My kids all loved him. They kept saying I wish we could keep Tigger. I felt the exact same way, oh I wished he could stay with us. My mom must of been able to tell how much we all wished he could be ours, because she decided that Tigger might be happier her with all of us. She wasn’t wrong, we were all so excited when she said we could have him, so was Tigger.

See that smile 😊

Before we got Tigger my cousin had a really cute dog he had to rehome because he couldn’t have that many dogs in his apartment. He asked us if we wanted her. We had to get the ok from our landlords first since they said we couldn’t have pets. They gave us the ok and we brought sweet little Zoey home. She was an arnry dog but we all loved her instantly. Zoey was a sweet little cuddle bug as well. Unfortunately a little time went by and my cousin said he wanted Zoey back because his kids were heartbroken after he gave her away. We were devistated. It was hard to give her back, but I knew his girls were sad too.

After giving Zoey back to my cousin I didn’t think we would get another dog so quick, but I sure glad we did. Tigger was the perfect fit for our family. It didn’t take him long to warm up to everyone. He was a little shy at first but I could tell all he ever wanted was a loving family.

Big cuddle baby

Now I’m not exactly sure who had our Mr. Tiggers before us, but I don’t think he got the love and affection he deserved. I did notice he had a some scars hidden under his fur. I hate to think the worse about things but I believe Tigger may have been previously abused by his last owners. It’s heartbreaking to think about and I hope I’m wrong, because I don’t know how anyone could be cruel to such a loving dog.

How could you not love him!

Tigger is the biggest attention seeking dog I have ever seen. He will definitely let you know if he thinks he’s not being loved enough. He will come up to you and nudge his cold wet nose on your hand until you pet him, and if you stop he will paw at you until you pet him more. He’s a big lap dog and thinks he fit perfectly anywhere you sit. If I’m sitting outside on our stairs he will come up behind me and push himself under my arm just so he can be right next to me.

You know you love me!

Tigger is the protector of the yard, he will bark a person to death just for walking by. It’s his yard and even if you’re walking across the street that’s to close. Taking the kids to school is always a stressful time for him because he doesn’t understand why he can’t hop out and go with them. One day he managed to almost make his dream come true and jumped out the window and ran after the kids to go inside. I of course decided to take the kids to school in my pajamas that day and had to get out and chase him back to the car infront of everyone. So we now have a new rule to keep the windows up at school drop off.

Bobby and Tigger

I believe Tigger has also had a impact on my son Bobby. He had some issues in school the year before and this year it’s almost a complete turn around. I think tigger has helped him cope and his attitude at home has changed so much. He’s so happy to have him. Tigger will also make sure after he takes shower he has extra clean hair, and licks the crap out of his head.

Are you sure you washed your hair enough?

Tigger and my moms dog Jaycy are always happy to see each other. It’s so cute to see them together. I just find it funny they get along so well, but they also enjoy trying to make each other jealous by seeing who can get the most attention.

Two best friends

We have all been so blessed since he came into our lives. I couldn’t imagine it any other way. He completes our family and we wouldn’t be the same without him. It’s crazy to think someone out there didn’t want him. I’m just so thankful we decided to go with my mom to the shelter that day.

And now a few more photos because he’s just to cute not to show more.
