It was just after Thanksgiving. The year was 2019, and as a surprise Christmas gift for my boyfriends' sister, Jodi. I had decided to make some arrangements to go down to Florida for a vacation so that she could spend time with her brother. Any time that she has traveled to Pennsylvania, he never takes time off work to actually spend time together. I also figured she would really enjoy it if I brought down the fur babies too. She just adores my little bugas, Chewbacca and Darth Vader. My bugas are Shih Tzus’. Yes, I spoil both of my boys, they are sons’ I never had until 7 years ago. Now these two little guys are my ride or die companions. Needless to say that a lot of times some of the fondest memories are in the car.
This trip to and from Florida is simply just the best one as of this time. I was working up at the casino in Pittsburgh. Andrew was working in construction. The Black Friday was the last night I worked before this drive. So I had already had all my stuff packed and ready to go. Andrew had to pack and take a nap before I got home around three in the morning. I got home and woke him up, we packed up the car and began our drive down. During the beginning of our drive, I slept in the back seat with both of our little guys. First off because these two are seriously mamas’ boys. We would stop at gas stations or rest stops on our way down. Chewbacca would just be looking all excited and running ecstatically. So much, he almost looked like a rabbit. It would just make me laugh so hard, my chest would hurt. Vaddies on the other hand would check out his surroundings for a few minutes, before, he would just run back and forth like a maniac with such speed he almost would crash into either my legs or his brother Chewy. Then they would do their business Chewy would kick dirt up on me, Vader's would run to mama and want to be picked up. He still does this to this day. The love I receive from these to fur babies is just so blissfully sweet and ever so welcomed.
We arrived down to Jodi's’ house, when I had the two little guys jump out the car and was walking up to the door. It was so treasurable and denotable, the expression on her face seeing Chewy and Vader's, it had brought tears to my eyes. The warmth of her embrace to see all of us. Taking these guys for walks down there was ever so preservable to me. I would have moved there if it was at all possible. So the ride back is and will forever be memorious to me. Watching Chewbacca, just sitting up in the front driver seat with my future husband. That will always have a special place deep inside my heart and soul. I think he had got way more enjoyment out of the ride back up because it was daylight out, and he was more capable of getting to see all the beauty that was within view to him. I then would turn to look into the back seat of the car. See the inquiring look on my other little man's face as he was enjoying his view out the window, just as content and euphoric as one could be after a very enjoyable visit with the ones you love. I am always looking forward to taking another vacation with all my guys again.
