A Story to Make you Question Your Dog's Inncocence

Bethany, Bethany, Bethany. My beloved owner. She thinks I'm the most innocent dog in the world as my dreamy chihuahua eyes and high pitch crying makes her believe that I'm a very well-behaved dog. That's the one thing I'm very grateful for being a chihuahua. Everyone thinks I'm super cute. I love it! If I'm super cute it means that no one will think I'm guilty when I transform the house into a reckless dog pound where the music is turned up on full volume, and the five strays in my neighborhood come around for some dog weed.

8.10 am. Bethany is packing her college bag ready to leave the house. She quickly grabs a breakfast bar from the kitchen and answers the house phone as it rings on the kitchen wall. "Hey, yes... I'll be back at my house for 7.30 just in time for some pizza. Ok cool see you," she says happily as she is speaking to her boyfriend on the phone. But most importantly, she said she will be back by 7.30 pm. That means she'll be gone for nearly 12 hours. Which really means the house is going to be a dog house from 9 this morning until 6 this evening. That's perfect, I can start contacting all my strays to come over through the dog telecom and make sure I invite some puppies from next door so they can bring some delicious treats like Harrington's rich chicken and duck treats made especially for us four-legged creatures. Strays bring the dog weed, cute puppies bring the rich dog food, and I got the music covered. This going to be the best day ever!

"Coco I will see you soon" Shouted Bethany as I Barked in response with anger and frustration to make her think that she will be missed by me. But really I'm happy that she'll be gone for almost 12 hours.

8.59 am. Let's get the party started. All strays have been contacted through telecom so they should be on their way very soon. In the meantime, as I wait for them, I'm trying to figure out how Spotify works on the speaker. My little paws were not made for this as I managed to take the MP3 player from the dock down. But how do I change the playlist? All I see is Ariana Grande songs on the playlist and that will unexpectable for the party today. Hopefully, TJ from the Strays will be able to change the music as his paws are much bigger than mine. Oh let me quickly hide the stash of chocolate in the dog house underneath the wooden floor in the garden so Bethany doesn't eat any more chocolate. Just because I'm a reckless dog doesn't mean that I don't care about my owner. I love Bethany but she needs to watch her waistline.

9.06 am. I hear Barking, more like deep growling. The strays have arrived! Let me give a brief introduction to who is who.

The strays

TJ - The one with the big paws that is going to fix the playlist for me.

Renin- More like the ring leader, he's the one that is also in charge of the dog weed.

Max- Recently joined the strays so he's the quiet one.

Reese - He eats a lot but never gets fat, so he will be the one eating the treats that the puppies will bring.

BM- The most disturbing one all of them all. If he doesn't like anyone he will rip out their bones. Even humans.

So the strays are here, TJ fixes up the music for me to heavy metal and puts the speakers on loud whilst Renin organizes our stash of weed for the day so we don't need to share. "Hey, Coco pops, where the food at ?" Reese yelled in his heavy Boston American accent. He was deported from the states if you were wondering. " Puppies are coming any minute with all our food". "Yeah they better, otherwise I will get BM to knock you down". Reese always says silly things to make other dogs feel intimidated by him.

Hang on. Here come the tiny dogs, I hear their weak barking sounds. They enter the house through the cat hole in the door and immediately started shaking as soon as they came in. Why? They were very scared of the strays. There are five puppies that I invited from next door, all of them from the same mother, and all are very good pets as they do what there told by their owners. That's why I invited them, to let them know that they can have fun and be reckless when their owners are not around. Let me quickly introduce you to them all.

Nicolas - The smart one, born first the mother was feeding him the longest when he was born

Jelly - Not so much the smart one, the last to be born

Amy - The boring girl

Yamin - My favorite one, cute and innocent puppy but I know there is a dark side to him that's waiting to come out

Jessie - Don't know him too well, so he's just Jessie to me

"Coco, who are they?" Nicolas hesitated as he asked me. " Well let me point out who is who. We have Chanel, Givenchy, Dior, Gucci, and Bogetta and they all come from Harrods. Hah, I'm Joking, TJ, Reese, Max, Renin and BM. There the strays of the neighborhood. One day you'll grow up and become a part of their hood." I proudly said to Nicolas but he looked very fragile and startled. Like the rest of the puppies, none of them were expecting the house to be a rock house but as the hour I went by they slowly started to get into the spirit and Amy began sniffing my weed.

11.08 am. The house is vibrating and were having a blast, the best 2 hours of my life so far. All the puppies are high, Max keeps tossing and turning to the music in the bathroom. Renin is making toilet paper trails all along the corridors of the house, TJ is feeling very stylish by wearing all of Bethany's most expensive jewelry pieces and I'm just here by the window chilling and loving life.

11.12 am. In my shades on the fluffy sofa listening to rock music and getting high with the pups and the strays. Nothing could go wrong.

As I joyfully look outside the window I could see an army. Not the actual RAF. But an army full of dogs that are very quickly approaching this house in particular. As they come closer there looking like strays, but not strays that I know. But this was not looking good. The best day of my life maybe the worst day of my life. "Renin! Renin!" I screamed at Renin as I think he had something to do with what's about to happen. "Why is there an army full of strays walking down the road and approaching this house in particular?". Renin chuckled and just smoked right in front of my face and pounded to the front door. As I figured Renin invited them all, with a smirk on his face, he lets all the strays from at least 3 neighborhoods just walk through the front door in my own house. Now I don't mind having a party for nearly 12 hours but this is way too much. How am I going to get all these strays out of my house by 7.30 pm?

1.00 pm, I'm officially panicking, I don't know what to do. The house is a complete mess, there is dog food all over the place, the nice creamy carpets smell of urine and weed, the walls are all scratched with dog paws and the music is way too loud. Yes, I said it, it's too loud. Bethany's favorite cushions that she got from Turkey are ruined and I could tell by the way they looked, they must have cost her her entire savings. I wanted to have fun but going from being a dog party house to a complete trash house is unexpectable. I needed to do something, so it's time to go to Renin. He started this mess and now he's finishing it.

1.03 pm. as I went to look for Renin in the heaps of strays that were in my house, I noticed the group of puppies from next door were all hurdled by the dog house in the garden. Yamin was crying, Nicolas was panicking and Jessie was trying to call for some help but the poor thing he can't bark well. I ran over there to see what was going on and it couldn't be something I expected. As I thought this day was very bad, well the day just got a lot worst, even worst. "JELLY" I yelled and barked. I was confused, paranoid, and shattered. The chocolate that I left underneath the floors of the dog house was eaten by Jelly. Of course Jelly didn't know better not to eat chocolate. Jelly's body was lying on the floor in my dog house. He was dead. I ran to look for Renin immediately but I couldn't find him, then I turn to TJ but he was too high. I was growling and barking for help but no one seems to be listening to my small chihuahua voice. You know sometimes I hate being a tiny dog, no one can see you or hear you the majority of the time. The only way I could cry for help was to turn off the music and put on the microphone so these mysterious dogs could listen to what I have to say. " Everybody listen to me. We have a dead dog in the backyard!" For 30 seconds it went silent then all the strays started laughing at me. "Shut up Coco Pops, we came here to have fun not to listen to.. wait hold up whos's that pulling up the driveway?" Reese mumbled. I looked at the window and I see a white ford fiesta by the house. If I see that car that only means one thing. Bethany is here.

1.07 pm. I was baffled. She was supposed to be back by 7.30 pm. These next 30 seconds of my life was about to be me in full panic mode. There's a dead dog in my backyard, next door is going to be wondering why their puppy was here and is not breathing anymore. There are a bunch of strays in my house with tattoos on them and it stinks of weed in here. Bethany's bedroom is a mess, all the walls are ruined, the kitchen is supposed to be the cleanest room in the house, but it looks nowhere near hygienic to be cooking in. I don't know what to do. All the dogs in the house couldn't keep their eyes off of Bethany through the window and she walked to the door and fiddle through her purse to find her keys. At that moment my heart was about to collapse. "Coco Pops your mama is going to kick you out for sure," Reese quietly whispered to me.

After 30s seconds, Bethany entered the front door. "What the F**k!" she yelled and screamed through the corridors and living room of the house as we all looked at her with cute dog eyes to fool our innocence. She gently picked up the phone from her bag with confusion on her face and called 999. "hello... I think someone just burgled my house and left a bunch of street dogs in my house." She quivered as she speaking to the police on the phone. As there was a sudden shock we all looked at each other and didn't know what to do. Renin stopped the awkward silence and barked amongst us all giving the signal to everyone to get out of the house. All the puppies took off as well and left dead Jelly lying in the dog house. Bethany was even more shocked and frightened as all the dogs ran out of the house quickly once Renin gave the barking signal. She dropped to the floor on her knees and was shattered into pieces. Me being her pet the only thing I could do is to calm her down. So I laid on her lap whilst she was balling her eyes out and snuggled against her chest to make her feel love. After all this drama I never wanted Bethany to be upset, yes she gets on my nerves but at the end day, she does take care of me and loves me the same way she loves her own family.

Five minutes later, the police arrived at the door and were absolutely gobsmacked at how the house was completely ruined. They took a good look a the house from the dog house to upstairs and smelt all the weed that was along the corridors. The two policemen did a better job of calming Bethany down than I did as one of them pulled her up from the floor and rubbed her shoulder. "Are you sure this was a burglary?" one of the policeman questioned. "Because it seems like your cute dog overhear through a party with street dogs and ended up killing one puppy by giving chocolate to the puppy." He despitefully said. One of the policemen looked down at me and gave a dirty look as if I was guilty of committing murder. Well in all fairness I did let a puppy die in my dog house. The policemen then looked at Bethany with a blank stare and said "You know your dog? Don't be fooled by his cuteness." Bethany looked at me with no expression. I have no words after that comment.
