Dog Movies Every Animal Lover Can Relate with their Pets
Best Dog Movies to Watch with your Pets!

It’s just another hefty weekend when I got nothing to do except sit on the couch wrapped in the blanket by the fireplace while my golden retriever, Barney, agrees with me that it’s too cold to get out. And so it happens I’m in the dire need of some activity to keep myself and my adorable dog busy. But what to do?
And then there it was, the idea to watch dog movies with my dog! I know it may sound super cheesy but let's face it - dog movies are fun. Every single movie is about how you adopt a dog or get a trained dog suffering PTSD post-war and so on. You have to admit such movies blow your mind in a good way.
Being a dog lover myself, I have finally made down a list of popular movies you may have or have not watched. But even if you had ample holiday time on your hand, you can watch the following movies: who knows your dog will love you more afterward?

101 Damations (1961)
Without a doubt, this movie takes the top position on my list for all the right reasons. In the history of dog movies, you’d never face villains like Cruella de Vil, right? Even the live-action remake of the movie (101 Dalmatians and 102 Dalmations) is worth watching too but the love for the cartoon movie is forever.
While some viewers will find the movie coarse “dark” (making fur coats from puppy’s skin) however Disney managed to win the hearts with smartness and wits by portraying Dalmations as the smartest dog breeds. Oh, and of course Cruel didn’t succeed in her goals which makes it a purely happy ending.

The Fox and the Hound (1981)
Another Disney classic that I loved to watch and so did Barney was the classical tale of a fox named Tod and a hound named Copper who became fast friends at their young age. One lesson that every dog owner can recognize right away is the concept of loyalty between the two completely different animal species. And that’s the part that you got to love the most. It’s quite an interesting story, like all other Disney stories it tells us hard life lessons about the nature of the animal world.
I just love the bittersweet ending the movie has.

The Secret Life of Pets (2016)
Yes, I know it’s the third animated/cartoon movie on my list but hey it’s all worth the right reasons. Anyone who has watched all three will agree with me. The Secrets Life of Pets is your modern telltale about a pet’s life in the urban world. Honestly, I did wonder if my dog actually did all the stuff I have watched in the movie. It seems that 6.5 stars on IMBD rating of The Secret Life of Pets say a lot about the movie being an average (but I still loved the movie).
The movie further depicts how Max feels insecure with the new dog, Duke, and how wants to get rid of it. This is actually not far from reality either. A dog’s behavior can change in presence of other dogs as you might have seen at some point. However the super cute and funny Pomeranian, Gidget is determined to solve the problem and thus the movie wins the hearts (at least mine and Barney’s).

Beethoven (1992)
Oh, the original classic Beethoven was my favorite movie of all times during my childhood. This live-action movie lets you experience eh Newton family and their love for the dog a St. Bernard only except for the head of the family. Since “dad” hates the poor dog the adventure begins right then.
One cool thing you realize while watching this movie is that dogs are incredibly smart. Even if they seem lazy or bulky, their looks can deceit you because let me tell you they are pretty much as smart as us. Sometimes even more.
Thus, the story of Beethoven describes the same qualities you want to see in your dog. The movie plot was quite formulaic with predictable but it’s fun to watch.

A Dog’s Purpose (2017)
I remember watching the trailer and being all excited about the movie’s concpet. The movie has quite a touching plot with a happy ending. It’s based on the book by W.Bruce Cameron and well you can already imagine your emotions being stirred with the dog’s narration.
The movie shows the life cases of a dog’s reincarnations. He keeps finding new families and upon ending one life he enters life, another life phase starts. The concept of A Dog’s Purpose is well about the “purpose” which is to keep their human happy. And I 100% completely agree with the movie’s theme.
Well, for now, this is from my side, covering these top 5 movies is a feat of its own in a day! So if you want to spend a cozy and relaxed day with your dog, try watching any of these movies, and I’m sure your dog’s reaction is worth watching.
