There once was a pig named Dizzy.

All two feet seven pink inches of Dizzy loved all the things that pigs do. He loved to roll in the mud. He loved eating all kinds of food. And most of all, he loved dreaming about things he had never done.

It made Him very sad to think of the things he would never get to do. Dizzy had never been on an airplane. He had never gone to school. And he had never, ever climbed a tree.

This was a big dream for Dizzy because the farmer's son had a treehouse. Every day, the boy played in the treehouse and Dizzy could only watch.

One night when the stars were shining bright, Dizzy was dreaming again. As he looked at the stars, he saw one fly across the sky. It was a shooting star!

Dizzy had been told that when you see a shooting star, your wish would come true. So, Dizzy made a wish!

"Oh I wish I could climb that tree!" he said.

All at once, a bright light was in front of him. Dizzy was afraid. It got bigger and bigger and Dizzy hid his eyes.

"Dizzy! I am here to help you,", a voice said.

Dizzy looked up and saw a funny looking man with a long grey beard. His eyes were green and he was smiling.

“What is your wish, Dizzy?".

“My wish? You want to help with my wish?", Dizzy asked.

"Of course I do. That is what star fathers do. Tell me your wish and I will help you." said the little man.

Dizzy looked around to see if anyone else was awake. He shook his head to make sure he wasn't dreaming.

Then he said, "I want to go in the tree house. But it is up the tree and I cannot climb! Can you help me?".

The little man squinted his eyes and cocked his head to the side, looking at Dizzy. "You want to go up into the tree? It is very high up for a little one like you. Are you sure?" he asked.

"Oh yes sir! More than anything!" Dizzy answered.

"Alright then. I will take you up into the treehouse for a minute. But if you become afraid, you must tell me." said the star father. As Dizzy watched, the little man turned around three times, pulled on his beard and grabbed Dizzy's ear.

All of a sudden, Dizzy felt his legs leave the ground. He got higher and higher and started to laugh.

"Wheeeheee! This is so great!" he yelled.

And then, they were there, on the front step of the treehouse. Dizzy was so excited!

Inside the treehouse were some books and drawings. A box held cars and blocks. Out of the window he could see stars. It was amazing!

Dizzy was so happy thinking about being in the treehouse and looked at his little muddy pen below. It was not a good idea. Dizzy finally knew why he was named Dizzy.

The treehouse started to spin and Dizzy was afraid! He called out, "Star father! Help!" as he lost his balance and fell out of the tree.

Before he hit the ground, he was lifted back up and then set down softly on the ground by the little man.

“I had no idea that I was called Dizzy for that reason!" he said. "I never want to go up there again. That was so scary!"

The little man smiled at Dizzy and said, "Dizzy, never be afraid to dream and to try to make those dreams come true. Dream more dreams and more dreams and never be afraid to take a step into the unknown. Even if sometimes it is scary, keep trying and great things are sure to happen. Today you were in a treehouse, who knows where you might go tomorrow."

And there was another big light and then he was gone.

After that night, Dizzy dreamt bigger and bigger dreams and his little pen became so many things. One day it was a pirate ship, then it became a castle. Sometimes it was a stage and he would sing for the other animals. Other days it was a battlefield and he was a brave knight.

But it was never a place where Dizzy felt bored or sad again. As long as he had a dream, he could go wherever he wanted to go. And he never watched the farmer's son climb into the tree again without getting Dizzy.
