While my mother and I were looking for my grandmother's dog for a week, we found out that he was found and taken to the shelter.
We immediately went to look for him but got with the surprise that the shelter had been put him down for being an old dog. We were sad to know that we had lost our pet Pom-Pom, plus worry for my grandmother.
Amid my grandmother's sadness and loneliness for not having her dog, my mom and I went to the shelter and picked a new puppy, mom asked me to choose a name, so I called her Crazy!
Crazy was very naughty, and as much as we tried to get Crazy to spend time with my grandmother, we couldn't. Crazy wanted to be just with me, she followed me even when I took a shower. She would enter into the shower with me to play with the water also she slept with me. She was only with my grandmother when I was out. However, when I arrived Crazy would go into my bedroom and not come out.
Many times, I found her in my wardrobe, asleep. Not to mention that she left me many gifts under my pillow, many times unpleasant, like a chicken skin that she had been taken out of the trash, other times a hot dog that she took from my sister's breakfast plate. Crazy was incredibly naughty. Many times, she liked to play with my acrylic paints, it was a disaster! Also, she loved to steal my mother's chocolates, we were clear that we couldn't give her chocolates, but we could not find an explanation of how she could open my mom's drawer and take out her chocolates, so we had to hide them. Crazy would hide bread and food under her bed, and sometimes she would take my sister's coins and hide them too. My sister thought I had trained her for it!
Crazy was not only mischievous but very loving when I had those dark teenage days, she would come cautiously to lick me, she would sleep with me. She would not move. Crazy was very protective, despite being very hyperactive.
When she started to go outside, it was the happiest time of her pet life. Every morning at 6:00 am, she would wake you up.
Crazy thought that everyone was friendly, she loved and wagged her tail to everyone, she was genuine. She did not like to fight with other dogs, although some dog would want to fight on the street with her but she always wanted to be friendly. I took her on the bus or a car, she behaved well, she liked to go everywhere with me, one day I took her to my best friend's house, the first thing she did was look for his bedroom and lay down on his bed. She looked happy; my friend loved her. It was her second pet.
The eleven and a half years with Crazy were the best thing that could happen to me, she chose me and I chose her, we both came from different shelters. One day I saw Crazy different, she was still naughty, but something was wrong, I took her to the vet and they told me that she needed an operation, Crazy had a tumour in her stomach. I immediately asked for an operation, which happened and she was fine when I saw her, the first thing she did when she saw me was wag her tail, the vet told me that she was fine, that, despite her tumour, her organs were very healthy, but after a few days she got pneumonia and we couldn't save her. She died in my bedroom next to me.
It was the most devastating moment of my life, I did not stop crying for weeks, the years go by and Crazy is still in my thoughts. Many times, I think about her and dream about her when she was little when we adopted her. She was special, I could never believe that I had found her in the shelter, I considered myself blessed with Crazy's love, her antics and her care.
Despite missing her so much, adopting her was the best thing we did, it not only brought happiness to me but my family. It was eleven and a half years of great happiness, which I do not regret.
When I met my wife, she had adopted a cat, his name is Noodle. Today, he is my cat too. Noodle is naughty as well.
