You Don’t Live in The World
- You Live in Your Universe
Let me start with a bold truth:
You and I don’t live in the same world.
Not because of geography.
Not because of age, race, or politics.
But because of something deeper - something invisible.
We live in different universes…
...because we have different awareness.
The Cloud Metaphor: One Sky, Infinite Worlds
Picture this:
Two children stare up at the same sky.
One sees dragons. The other sees dreams.
Same clouds. Same moment.
But each child brings a different lens.
Those lenses?
Shaped by experience.
Formed by their environment.
Etched by every smile, every scar, every story they’ve absorbed.
Now zoom forward 20 years.
The dragons become fear.
The dreams become vision.
And suddenly, we’re adults walking through life, assuming we’re all seeing the same thing.
But we’re not.
The Invisible Filter Called “Awareness”
What is awareness?
It’s not just “being awake.”
It’s the lens through which you experience reality.
Your awareness is formed by:
- The places you’ve lived
- The books you’ve read
- The people you’ve loved
- The pain you’ve carried
- The culture that shaped you
- The questions you’ve dared to ask
And that awareness becomes your filter for everything.
From how you interpret someone’s tone…
...to how you view opportunity, love, risk, or failure.
You’re Not in a Room - You’re in a Universe
Have you ever argued with someone who just “didn’t get it”?
You showed them facts. Logic. Emotion.
And they still couldn’t see your point?
It’s because they’re not in the same room as you.
They’re in a different universe - one built from their own awareness.
This is why two people can grow up in the same neighborhood, go to the same school, even sit in the same classroom…
and still walk away with two completely different worldviews.
Exposure Expands the Mind (And the Universe)
So here’s the empowering part:
Awareness is expandable.
And the #1 way to do it?
Exposure.
Exposure is the oxygen of consciousness.
The more environments, ideas, people, and experiences you absorb…
...the more you stretch your reality.
Think about it:
- Travel forces you to question the “normal” you grew up with.
- Listening to opposing views sharpens your mental flexibility.
- Reading philosophy, history, psychology - it reconfigures your mind’s operating system.
- Even eating a new cuisine can make you question what “home” tastes like.
Every new environment repaints your mental map.
Rewriting the Mental Code
Your mind runs on stories.
And every story has a setting.
Most people live inside one storyline their whole life -
“This is how things work.”
“This is what success looks like.”
“This is what I’m worth.”
But when you expose yourself to new environments, you begin to see:
Wait… there are other ways to live? Other rules? Other realities?
And in that moment, your story becomes flexible.
You stop being a prisoner of old patterns…
...and you start becoming the author of a new universe.
How to Expand Your Universe (In Real Life)
Here’s how to apply this practically.
Not just spiritually - but tactically.
1️⃣ Change Your Environment
Go where your beliefs get challenged.
Travel if you can. If not, change your routine. Go to a different park. Try a new community.
Discomfort = expansion.
2️⃣ Question Everything You’ve Absorbed
Ask: “Where did this belief come from?”
“Is this mine - or one I inherited?”
Awareness begins when assumption ends.
3️⃣ Curate New Inputs
Switch your information diet.
Consume content from thinkers who make you uncomfortable.
Growth begins at the border of your bias.
4️⃣ Reflect Every Day
Use journaling, voice notes, or meditation.
Ask: “What did I experience today that stretched my mind?”
The more you reflect, the more you expand.
You’re Not Trapped
You’re not stuck in your current perspective.
You’re not limited to the world you were born into.
You live in a universe that your mind designed.
And you can redesign it.
The size of your world doesn’t depend on your location…
It depends on your awareness.
Imagine This…
Imagine if you lived like a mental explorer.
Every week, stepping into a new space, a new conversation, a new way of thinking.
What kind of person would you become?
What kind of power would you unlock?
What’s one experience that completely changed how you view the world?
Was it travel? Loss? Love? A book? A person?
🚀Share it below.
Let’s build bigger minds - and braver universes - together. 🌌
