Being a child of the age that is now facing the stresses of life and dealing with a family that has its own set of stresses and concerns is no easy task. Sober Living was designed to give kids and families in the area a chance to gain strength and support from other people while learning how to face their problems. It is not enough to have a good time, you need to know that there are people who care about you and your needs. That is Sober Living.

The Sober Living in Lansing MI offers many different types of programs that help people and young adults learn how to live better, smarter, and make better decisions. Some of the activities that are offered are similar to those offered by summer camps. This is a way for kids to experience first hand what it is like to have a camp and experience something new. What is Sober Living in Lansing MI and what do these kinds of programs offer?

The Sober Living program offers a way for kids and young adults in the community to have a change to help them grow as people. The kids that live here live their lives without any stress while at the same time gaining skills and wisdom that they will need later in life. The main goal of Sober Living is to take young adults from their current situation and turn them into valuable members of the community when they leave Sober Living. The program works by having the kids take a series of tests throughout the week and then participate in community activities on the weekends.

During one of these community activities a Sober Living volunteer will come along and administer a series of personality tests to each of the kids. They will give the kids a sheet of paper and they will be required to write down things about themselves such as their name, where they went to school, what they did for fun, their favorite color, and any other question that may arise. Once the kids have taken the test all of the students will have to go up to each parent and tell them why they didn't answer a specific question. The parent will then get the sheet of paper and read each kid's answer to determine if they actually agree or disagree with the answer. If parents and kids both agree then the answer is correct, but if they don't both disagree then the question needs to be reworded until a reasonable solution can be reached.

After each test has been administered a Sober Living representative will come to the house and give each child a marker and a backpack for class. All of the kids will then walk around the neighborhood to show the markers to other parents. When the Sober Living representatives are done giving out the markers and backpack the next group of kids will head to the community center for a meeting. During this meeting the Sober Living representative will ask each child to stand up in the crowd and read out loud a poem that was written by the community.

There are three testing nights each week during which the Sober Living volunteers will visit the homes of each of the children. The night that Sober Living holds at the community center will last about an hour. At this time all children are encouraged to share a poem with the adults in the room. This is usually a popular poem that has a special meaning for the Sober Living kids. If the poem is one of importance to the child they are encouraged to read out loud and explain why they wrote it.

The Sober Living program works with the community in order to help provide the kids in the community with the opportunity to develop confidence and self-esteem. By attending Sober Living Homeschools the Sober Kids are given the ability to live their lives in a quiet, clean, and healthy home. The Sober Living Homeschool program is also available in many different formats. Sober Living provides books, videos, and CDs to Sober Living Homeschools as well as providing a host of after school programs for the kids to attend.
