What A Day!!!

Can we re-invent our lives?

Have you ever had a day that was so perfect, amazing, and you did not want it to end? Most of us have had those days that we wish we could capture it with one shot, and put it in a frame. Maybe it was your first kiss, first taste of a food that was so delightful you want to savor the taste forever, or if you have seen something that was so beautiful you want to lock it away in your memory forever.

The other day I had a brief conversation with someone that was upset that their life had changed. Unfortunately, there are many changes in our lives the older we get that we cannot predict, change, or salvage. I told this person that instead of looking at it in a dim light turn the switch, and reinvent yourself. I had to do this multiple times in my life. I speak from experience. When I was five I had a bad accident, and had to learn how to talk, walk, and everything all over again. When I was in my twenties I crushed my hand in a machine, and I could not play guitar for a while, so I learned how to play the keyboard to continue writing songs.

Reinvent yourself, change the way you do things, learn a new skill, hobby, or talent. When you learn new things it opens up a whole new world. I am always creating new ways to live my life, finding new ideas, doing different things, and keeping myself active. When I was in high school I asked a teacher if I could stay after school, and learn how to draw. She told me that it is a skill you either have, or have to practice to have. I always wanted to draw. I think my stick figures are coming out better, but drawing an actual picture, nope!!!!!!! What I am saying is you may not be perfect the way you want to be, but you are as perfect as you should be.

Here are some new hobbies you can try: photography, painting, drawing, learning an instrument, scrap booking, sand art, planting a garden, creating new recipes, organizing, writing, singing, dancing, coloring, exercising, and etc. Remember no matter what you choose, make sure it’s something you like, connect to, tap into your senses, and want to do. Feel and experience these new exciting activities. Have fun while doing them. There is nothing more awesome than to create something, and feel the excitement. I love creating new things. I remember the first song I wrote. I felt like I was walking on the clouds. Once you get your creative juices going you will not want to stop.

However, do not stop trying something new. If you have no money, but you have a little bit of time, get out there, look at the sky, listen to the ocean, birds, animals, the trees rustling, the sound of a brook, the river flowing, and flowers. You will find something that captures your creativity, and be on your way. I promise you may not be the next millionaire but you will be the next star in your life. You only have to reinvent yourself to your liking, and not anyone else's.

I would like everyone who reads this article to get out there and reinvent your life. Let's start with the five senses: see, hear, smell, taste, and feel. Re-invent yourself using at least three of those senses. BTW you will smell, hear, see, taste, and feel life differently when your creative juices start to flow.

Reinvent yourself today,
