Do Not Set Goals... Manifest Them.
With 2021 behind us and 2022 starting off on some pretty solid bad notes (RIP Betty White), it's only a matter of time before we start to see the posts about people giving up before they even try and start to work towards their goals for the year. It's been a rough couple of years with a pandemic and political turmoil consuming the media pretty much daily, so I can't say I blame anyone who's too exhausted to feel like they could even begin to work towards these big goals.

Bringing Back Childhood Joy
The light clicked off and I waited, eyes shut tight, as the footsteps faded down the hallway. I knew I should probably wait a little longer – adults were tricky beings – but I couldn't. I just couldn't. My hand slowly crept toward the edge of my bed and down under the mattress where my stolen flashlight hid during the day.

Mom Is Right, You Should Make The Bed
Most of you are probably fully functional adults that make the bed every day. Sadly, I am not one of those adults. I thought it was pointless. Why straighten up something that will be messy again later. I know others feel the same way. We are the kind of people who get annoyed by our mothers telling us to tidy up the bed. But, I'm here to tell you that mom is right. There are benefits to making the bed. These benefits could help improve sleep. "A National Sleep Foundation poll found that survey participants who reported regularly making their bed were also more likely to say that they got a good night's sleep most nights." Lessons in Awe. Runner-Up in We Have a Dream Challenge.
I’m sitting on the bus on my way to work. My headphones are plugged into my ears and I’m looking down at my phone. I enter my workspace. It’s a glorious building, built in the 1930s and decked out like an underwater haven. A sea of emerald meets my eye as I walk through the front doors. Though I’ve seen the architecture many times and often take it for granted, when I stop for a moment to look up the sight before me is truly magnificent.

The year of Rest and Relaxation
Year after year, we watch the calendar flip to January, and we make resolutions to start a new business or write that book. We vow to quit smoking, cut out sugar, or reach that dream weight, but by February 1st, we usually lose steam in our goals. Why?

Restful Body, Restful Mind
In a hectic modern world, rest may seem fleeting to most. We are expected to do, do, do with all the increasing demands in our careers, our relationships and even our personal growth. There seems to be an industry for everything nowadays, always pointing towards a problem. What if I were to tell you that there actually is quite a simple solution to our day-to-day problems. That solution, my friend, is rest.

Getting Rid of the "New Year, New Me" Mantra
“New Year, New Me” I’m tired of the marketing target placed on the new year. The tummy-tea, the new diets, and the constant comparison to others, especially at this time of year. Because of this overwhelming fake-positivity, I have recently retired from the idea of a typical “new year’s resolution” because if there is any time to start doing something I want, it’s now. At any point in the year, if I want to start something new, I should.
