The society sharks

Fatal encounter

By Johanna BangalaPublished 4 years ago 4 min read

The world has become like a dark deep ocean infested with sharks, on the lookout for the slightest weakness. A quarter of well-intentioned people who only want to do good, are comparable to vacationers on the beach. Carefree, relaxed and lost in their dreams. They do not know the danger that is coming for one of them. These vacationers could stay on the beach, enjoy the warm sand and lounge chairs. But human beings need to be in constant movement, change their environment and above all, they need to connect with other people.

The group of young men

This is why a group of young men playing ball caught the attention of a shy and reserved young boy, who decided to join them. He had recently made the decision to come out of his shell. A little hesitant, he left the beach to immerse himself in the deep waters. While he was swimming towards his fellow men, he felt strong, freed from his doubts and his anxieties. Crossing this patch of ocean, he had the feeling of crossing and overcoming all the difficulties of his life. When he reached the young men, he asked them if he could join the game. With a big smile, they all agreed. The young vacationer felt valued, accepted and regained self-confidence. They then started a new game of volleyball while getting to know the newcomer.

The sun was shining and the water was soft on the surface. In this idyllic setting, the young man who used to be isolated, misunderstood, and even insulted said to himself in his mind, that today his life would change and that now everything would be better for him.

The boy

The leader of the group proposed a new game in the form of a challenge. The goal of the challenge was to see which of the boys would stay the longer underwater. Out of the six boys in the group, four decided to participate and two, including the leader, to just be the judges. For them not to rise immediately to the surface, they had to attach stones to their ankles, the newcomer found it dangerous and told them that he would rather go back to the beach.

One of the young men approached him, and he put his arm around his neck, as an old friend would have done, and he said to him: “you are one of us now, how do you think that we become so strong and well built? It’s by surpassing ourselves and daring to take risks, are you going to let us down? ”

The young man, afraid of losing his first and only friends, agreed to participate in the challenge. Equipped with a boat, itself containing two jet skis, one of the boys in the group went to the beach using one of the jet skis to pick up large stones and find ropes.

Upon his return, the two judges tied the other 5 boys, and gave them large flashlights, so that they could see each other once in the shallows. The instruction was that after two minutes, they should all detach themselves, if they had not yet risen to the surface, in order to avoid drowning. The five young men jumped into the water. Very quickly, the four members of the group came to the surface while the newcomer was only sinking more and more. When the newcomer looked around, he saw none of the boys and thought that they had already given up and had come back to the surface. He was happy and proud of himself.

Unfortunately, what he didn't know was that the young people he had come across were part of the three-quarters of society that feeds on the weaknesses of the people that they consider to be below them.

From the start, they had planned to make fun of the young man and teach him a lesson, he who had dared to believe that they could become friends with an energumen of his kind. These young executioners had tied fake stones to their ankles, and had made very large knots. But on the other hand, they had attached real stones to the young man's ankles, and they had tightened his knots much tighter. This is why when he was convinced that he had won, he tried to untie the stones so that he could go back up, but the knots were far too tight for his tiny body.

Literally fighting for his life. Sinking more and more, he eventually hit the bottom of the sea and died alone as he had always feared. And just like that a life was taken, just like that a mother never saw her son again, just like that, those ropes that were supposed to seal their friendships sealed his death. The group of totally carefree and unconscious young men took their boat and they returned to the beach as if nothing happened. They were laughing and proud of the good joke they had just made to this idiot. They were thinking that he would, with a lot of efforts, untie himself and get back to the surface, but they had tied him way too strong.

This kind of story is unfortunately not an isolated case, and every day people have the misfortune to come across this type of people who feed on the evil and the setbacks of others. The danger in the world of men is that these ill-intentioned people are not always strangers and very often wear friendly or family masks. Every day, vacationers come across these society sharks. These encounters change us, destroy us and sometimes also strengthen us.

The most important thing is to not let theses encounters become fatal as it was the case for this young boy. If you follow your gut, you will be able to retire at the right time and you will see the red lights before it is too late. These encounters will just become life lessons that will strengthen you instead of putting you down, because as we say, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
