Awake to a place of my own. The idea of adulthood rushes to my head. Living in your own space, not being tied down by a group or a tether like family. Being an adult comes with its own struggles but having the responsibility of your own & the power of individuality allows for self-growth and a form of existence in this world.

Growing up you interact with people every day & at times they affect your mood & the things you do. Going through the motions you sometimes you believe that what they say is what they mean. In some realities what's being said isn't always the truth. It's up to you to decide how you will react & be ready for whatever happens next.

Through role models & life lessons, we rely on our predecessors to keep us humbled & push us forward to our goals. It's important to have people in your corner to boost you up or to look up to for guidance. It may not always be someone you know but it can be someone who gives good advice as well as someone who speaks their truth through the actions they take. In any scenario, we use their power of positivity & optimism to give us the strength to make it on our own as adults & make smart choices for us to be successful & great.

As a child being naive & agreeing with what others say helps you develop as a person while understanding the world around you. When your parents tell you to go play when they actually mean "go somewhere so the grownups can talk". As an adult, there's no parent telling you to go somewhere. There's you, the other person & communication.

Communication helps a lot with growing up. It not only gives you insight on other people but on yourself. You learn the various ways on communicating with people and the perspectives of others. You put all the skills that you have learned prior to the test and understand the importance of things like, responsibility, integrity and respect. As an adult you have alot more opportunity to mess things up and the freedom to create whatever you want because you become the painter to your own canvas.

Our words has a lot more weight now as an adult than as when we were younger because it not only affects others but ourselves entirely. Mutual understanding & respect helps life move more smoothly. Being an adult gives you the control of your own actions and reactions. We constantly grow and learn but with a less hold on a guardian we come to rely on different things that helps shape our personality.

Our emotions play a big part in it all. As an adult, we grow to learn from our past & in some cases repeat it. What we want & what we do to get it changes & it makes us do the craziest things sometimes. We hold so much more responsibility than it can be a burden.

Whether we deal with those emotions or not determines our future outcome for us because it becomes part of our history. Part of the book of our lives that we live in. Something so small as an argument or a thank you can create a butterfly effect of reactions that can be a future that's unimaginable.

Being an adult isn't just about doing whatever you want & having the freedom to be whoever you want to be. Sometimes for me, being an adult means taking responsibility for yourself and learning to love who you are. Develop that kindness & strength towards yourself and those you meet.

Having the respect & courage to encourage the world you live in & be able to admit that you're not perfect because you're learning just like everyone else. Times may be hard, & you may get hurt. As some will say, it's about getting back up & pushing forward. It doesn't hurt to have some positivity lean your way. Just like how cats always land on their feet, so do we. Through the road of adulthood we learn to get back up and trust ourselves that everything will be ok and we can get through whatever comes our way.
