The Power of Yet...
We all have dreams and when pursuing those dreams we all run into roadblocks. Adding ONE word to phrases, can make the journey of that dream more beautiful.

A 3 letter word, but it is so powerful as a whole. I recently just graduated from Indiana University - Purdue University of Indianapolis this past May. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and received a Certificate in Business Management. On top of being a full time college student, I was managing to run a business full time, training professional and collegiate basketball players. To say I was stressed all the time, well that would be an understatemen, I was constantly stressed. I would hardly sleep, I was always just focused on grinding it out and focusing on the end goal. This caused even more stress and hurt my mental health so much.
I started to struggle my Junior year and fell into a little slump, until one day I was in class and we started talking about the word, “yet.” I immeditely said to myself, “Good lord, here we go again with some sort of non-sense. CAN WE LEARN ABOUT SPORTS??” NO! I slowly started paying attention, it all made sense. Let me take you down this beautiful trip to completely changing your mindset and your LIFE!
Yet is a 3 letter word, it is so powerful. When you think of the word, I think of turning a negative into a positive. As a basketball coach, entrepreneu, lifelong learner the number one thing I here on the daily is, “I can’t do it...” Whatever it may be, embrace the journey. Instead of, “I can’t.” Say, “I can’t... yet!” This 3 letter word can change how you think, the way you feel, and how you view the overall journey to becoming successful at whatever you do. I am a firm believer in embracing the journey and going through hard times in order to see the light at the end of the tunnel. In order to have a stronger mindset, using the word yet is going to help you believe even more.
Common phrases I hear daily; “I can’t”, “I’m not there”, “I don’t know how to do it.” These are all apart of the negative mindset we develop as we are pursuing something greater than what we have imagined. Adding the word yet to the end of all of those phrases, changes the meaning of it and your whole mindset. Your brain is so powerful, but it can be a blessing or a curse. Training your brain with positive phrases and words, allows you to have a stronger mind. The word yet will allow you to embrace the journey, it will allow you to tune out the negative thoughts and it will allow you to reach your goals everyday. Do not let the negative thoughts that you have going on in your head to dictate what you want to do with the rest of your life. You aren’t there, YET but you will be!
We all go through rough times. We all experience trauma, our brains will often trick us into believing that we can’t do something. People will try to ruin what we have put all of our blood, sweat, and tears into. Trust me, the long nights of no sleep is all going to be worth it. You may not be there.... YET, but as long as you continue to strive and grind it out you will get to where you want to be. Add the 3 letter word, yet, into everything you do when something negative may come out, it will make a major difference.
I know this is a very short read, please read it and take it all to your heart. Talk soon. Peace. Love. Unity.
