The Mirror Tree

A Poem About What Life Returns

By HasbanullahPublished 5 months ago 2 min read

In the silence of dawn, where the sky meets the sea,
There stands a great wonder—the Mirror Tree.
Its branches stretch wide, its roots run deep,
It remembers each secret we try to keep.

Not a forest can hide it, nor a river conceal,
For the Mirror Tree shows us what’s false and what’s real.
It carries no malice, it carries no pride,
It simply reflects what we plant inside.

---

If you sow seeds of kindness, gentle and true,
The Mirror Tree blossoms and returns them to you.
Its flowers are laughter, its shade is peace,
It offers you shelter, where troubles release.

If you give out compassion, a listening ear,
The Mirror Tree whispers, “Your harvest is near.”
A friend will appear, or a stranger may smile,
The kindness you gave comes back in a while.

But if you sow anger, or cruelty, or lies,
The Mirror Tree mirrors with unblinking eyes.
Its fruits turn bitter, its branches bend low,
Delivering back what you chose to sow.

---

A man once planted greed at the foot of the tree,
Thinking, “What I take will belong to me.”
But seasons passed, and when harvest came,
He tasted his hunger, and swallowed his shame.

A woman once planted seeds of despair,
Cursing her neighbor, saying life was unfair.
Yet the Mirror Tree caught every word that she said,
And shadows of sorrow returned to her bed.

But a child with soft hands placed a seed in the ground,
Of laughter and hope where no joy was found.
Years later the village, once broken and small,
Found music and light that embraced them all.

---

The Mirror Tree whispers, “Be careful, my friend,
For beginnings are choices, but outcomes don’t bend.
The roots will remember, the branches will bend,
And what you send outward returns in the end.”

You cannot deceive it with masks or disguise,
For the Mirror Tree gazes with infinite eyes.
It knows every thought, it feels every tone,
What you give to the world becomes what you own.

---

So choose, gentle heart, what you place in its ground,
For echoes of seeds will circle around.
Plant truth and you’ll find that your path will be clear,
Plant courage, and strength will replace every fear.

Plant envy or hatred, and soon you will see,
The pain you have sown will come back to thee.
Plant patience and mercy, and over the years,
The Mirror Tree waters your joy with tears.

---

The elder once told me, “The Mirror Tree waits,
It stands at the threshold of all human fates.
No storm can uproot it, no fire can erase,
The marks of our choices it etches in place.”

And I, as I listened, felt silence within,
For I knew every act is where stories begin.
We live not alone, nor in shadows apart,
The Mirror Tree grows in the soil of the heart.

---

So when you awaken to a brand-new day,
Ask yourself gently, “What seeds shall I lay?”
A smile for a stranger, forgiveness for wrong,
A note of soft kindness, a comforting song.

These are the seeds that will one day return,
As blessings and shelter, as lessons we learn.
The Mirror Tree waits, it never will flee,
It lives in your spirit—it lives within me.

---

O Mirror Tree, teacher of fate,
You show us our harvest, however late.
Through sunlight and shadow, through sorrow and glee,
We reap what we sow in your endless decree.

So let us be mindful, let us be wise,
For life is a circle, not just a prize.
What we cast outward, both bitter and sweet,
Shall one day return for us all to meet.

And when my last sunset sinks into the sea,
I hope I have planted good roots in me.
That the Mirror Tree’s branches will open above,
And crown me with mercy, and shelter with love.
