In a village, there lived a farmer who owned very little land. Because of his poverty, no one was willing to marry their daughter to him. However, he was hardworking and honest. Seeing his nature, a kindhearted man arranged his marriage to a poor girl from a good family. His wife, raised with good values, supported him wholeheartedly. Together, they worked hard and managed to get good yields from their small piece of land.
Over time, they had four sons. They raised them well, and the children grew up in a loving and disciplined environment. They were obedient to their parents, always fulfilling any task their father assigned them without hesitation. As they grew older, the four sons took responsibility for farming and tending to the livestock. Whatever duty their father assigned, they completed diligently.
One day, the farmer was sitting under a peepal tree, twisting a rope from straw. A crow was perched on the tree, observing how the farmers sons quickly obeyed his commands and completed all the tasks.
Curious, the crow asked, Baba Ji, why are you twisting this rope What will you do with it
The farmer casually replied, I will use it to tie you up.
Frightened, the crow said, Baba Ji, if you spare me, I will tell you about a treasure buried under the roots of this peepal tree.
The farmer agreed, and the crow flew down, scratching at the trees roots. The farmer immediately called his sons, and together, they dug up the area and found a hidden treasure. Within days, they became wealthy.
A neighboring farmer learned about how the crow had revealed the treasure. He, too, had four sons, but unlike the first farmers hardworking and disciplined children, his sons were lazy and disobedient. They never followed their fathers instructions and always made excuses to avoid work.
The lazy farmer thought he could trick the crow in the same way. So, one day, he sat under the peepal tree and started twisting a rope. The crow perched on the branch above and asked, Baba Ji, why are you twisting this rope What will you do with it
The farmer, imitating his neighbor, replied, I will use it to tie you up.
Hearing this, the crow burst into laughter and said, How will you tie me up when you cannot even control your own family You are trying to copy the man who found the treasure, but you lack the unity and hard work that earned him that reward. I revealed the treasure to the other farmer because of his and his sons dedication and togetherness. You will never succeed without those virtues. Remember, unity and hard work bring blessings.
secord story same like above
Once, in a small village, there lived an old farmer with his four sons. The sons often fought with each other, never working together. The farmer, worried about their future, decided to teach them a lesson.
One day, he gave each son a single stick and asked them to break it. They easily snapped the sticks. Then, he tied four sticks together and asked them to break the bundle. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t break it.
The farmer smiled and said, Alone, you are weak, but together, you are strong. If you stay united, no one can harm you.
Realizing their mistake, the sons promised to stay united. They began working together on the farm, helping each other instead of arguing. Their farm flourished, yielding more crops than ever before. Their unity brought prosperity, and they became respected in the village.
One day, a greedy landlord tried to seize their land. But the brothers, standing together, fought for their rights and saved their farm.
From that day on, they understood the true power of unity. The farmer, seeing his sons finally united, passed away peacefully, knowing his family was strong and unbreakable.
