The Beauty of Perfection
"The beauty standards you must have"

"I know you might have the urge to correct me and say, 'Anwesha! Maybe you are trying to write about beauty in imperfection...,' aren’t you? If not, then you haven't judged anyone based on their looks. Your thoughts didn’t falter with uncertainty when you saw someone who, in the language of society, would be regarded as 'imperfect.'
If you want to correct me, then what makes you think that girl is imperfect?"
Ans:

And if you thought all the beauty and related terms was for females the here you go... :)

"Now that you know from where you form your perception of good or bad looks or about what is perfect or imperfect, let's dive into the main question!
What is perfection?
Our eyes, as given by nature, are designed to see things as they are. For example, have a look at these beautiful flowers. Aren't they just adorable and perfect for a picture that you might post on your social media profile? But unfortunately, ingesting a flower stem or leaf might lead to abdominal pain, followed by paralysis and even death!"

Perfection, in short, is a subjective term that cannot be defined in a narrow context. To understand it, we need to explore its roots. What made us think the flower was beautiful?
Answer: Its flawless beauty.
There lies the answer—'flawlessness'. Therefore, it is important to understand what your unconscious mind demands. What I mean is, I don't criticize the desire to look beautiful, but I do criticize when your perception of beauty is defined by people who don't know you and will never truly understand you. You are the one who defines who you are and who you will become.
However, this thought process shouldn't be limited to just you. You are surrounded by individuals who may offer advice, whether morally right or wrong, or may introduce you to popular opinions that you may personally agree or disagree with. In such cases, you subject your thoughts to a wider network of interaction. This process of interaction can be beneficial as long as a dominant viewpoint doesn’t make you feel insecure or expose you to anxieties that make you question who you are (assuming your introspection leads to morally sound results).
When you compliment someone by saying they look "perfect," the compliment should be directed towards their combination of clothes, the style they wear, or how their clothing matches the vibe. You shouldn't say, "Those big eyes, the proper alignment of the nose, and the beautifully fair complexion look perfect!"
- If I were to offer tips on perfect beauty standards, they would be:
1)Learn to adore the ideals of discipline: Discipline isn’t just about waking up early and eating healthy. It applies to how you respond to things, prioritize responsibilities, and manage your time.
2) Choose quality over quantity: This applies to relationships, friendships, or even the actions you take in life.
3)Devote yourself to spirituality: Mental health is a crucial aspect of the human body. If you are mentally optimistic, you will be physically fit. Therefore, practices like yoga and consistency are vital. By following this, you can attain your goals. Consistency is key!
These three ideals are directed at perfecting your personality, because at the end of the day, your charm, your words, and your actions will brighten someone’s day. Even the imperfect can say, "I am perfect!"
**Author's Space: Part 2 – The Etching of Beauty Standards in the Age of Social Media**
This is the second installment of a series that delves into the profound insights shared by Maryam Batool, a prodigy whose thoughts are pure and untainted. In Part 1, we explored her accurate definition of beauty standards. Now, in this continuation, we focus on how external influences—specifically social media—have been deeply ingrained in our minds, shaping and distorting our perception of beauty.
Social media, platforms designed to connect and engage, has increasingly become a tool that perpetuates unrealistic ideals. Through the curated, often filtered images we see daily, it reinforces beauty standards that are far removed from reality, embedding them in our consciousness. These distorted representations of beauty affect not only our self-image but also our interactions with the world around us. The constant exposure to such ideals makes it difficult to break free from the imposed standards, leaving many to internalize these images as the ultimate definition of beauty.
This series is an evolving exploration, offering a fresh perspective with every new voice willing to challenge these constructed norms. There is an urgent need to correct the misconceptions we’ve been conditioned to accept. The mistakes in our perception, shaped by years of external influence, must be rectified. Social media, while a tool for connection, has etched a narrow, unattainable definition of beauty into our minds, often obscuring the diverse, real beauty that exists in each of us.
As we move forward in this series, we aim to shed light on the impact of these influences and work towards dismantling the harmful standards they impose. Maryam Batool’s work serves as a foundation for this important conversation—one that encourages us to embrace individuality and authenticity, and ultimately, to embrace the true essence of beauty.
So, join us on this journey, and for those who have yet to do so, don't forget to read Part 1—where it all began.
