Take A Moment To Breathe
An introspective outlook on modern life's frustrations.

When we take a single moment out of our day to release the frustration in our lives, we can continue to press forward and overcome each new challenge that comes our way. Of course things are rather chaotic right now but that doesn’t mean we should focus only on the negative. Take a moment and breathe.
While it may seem simple, that big gasp of breath can work wonders both physically and emotionally. This moment is quite important, don’t get caught up stressing over each and every little thing in life. We all have our purpose and it might take a lifetime to find out what it was. Others seem to find it sooner.
To reach a sense of enlightenment, one must first be honest with yourself and what it is that you really want from this world. Be truthful and realistic to what you desire the most. For some people, it might be something simple like family or friends. Others might want wealth and power to some degree or another.
That being said, whatever your desire is, laser focus on that goal but don’t let it become an obsession distracting from other parts of your day and how you interact with others. Quite often people miss out on the really important things in life — they become all business and tend to ignore others unknowingly.
You see this out in public, as people are focused upon their phones. We all have seen people stepping out in front of traffic, not paying attention around them as they cross the road. Perhaps they are at a crossroads in their life. They are unsure of what to do and what steps to take next. Ultimately, others may try to change you.
However, you must stay true to yourself. It is most important. Listen to that little voice or gut feeling about what you want. Go with that and let things unfold as they will. Importantly, don’t try to force things. As the saying goes, we are all on this stage and everyone is playing their part.
Now, write down a list of ways to reach this ambition. Certainly many things are not easy but not impossible either. Finding that inner strength within yourself, is greatly important to you. Don’t be afraid to fail and keep trying. If you fall in a metaphorical sense, pick yourself up, stand tall and refuse to surrender to failure.
Many might not know there are different techniques to breathing. For each person, it might be different. Finding what works for you best is key of course. There are different breathing exercises that one can do each day.
Some of these include: Diaphragmatic breathing, Pursed lip breathing, Breath focus technique, Lion’s breath, Alternate nostril breathing, Equal breathing, Resonant or coherent breathing, Sitali breath, Humming bee breath (bhramari) and Deep breathing. Refer to Healthline, as they have a descriptive article regarding each of these techniques.
Aside from taking that moment to breathe well each and every day, one can embrace other methods to relax from the stresses of their day. Enjoy a hot or cold shower or soak in a warm bath. Turn on your favorite music. It has been proven to be effective to relax someone during their day. It helps to sooth the body, mind and soul. Others might enjoy writing or a hobby like games, puzzles and so on. It is good exercise for your mind as well, as it continues to evolve with more things learned each day.

While it is a lesser known technique, guided imagery has become more popular as a way to cope with difficult situations. This method is done by relaxing your thoughts and body by reducing stress. Someone simply will vividly daydream during their day and with both time and practice, they will find that locked inner wisdom inside themselves.
Close your eyes and picture where you want to be. Now, imagine being there and being happy. Perhaps you are with your wife, husband or friend. Share that image with them as well. This lets them know how much you care for them as they have entered your thoughts.

Often people imagine a picturesque place such as a remote beach or island somewhere. Perhaps a majestic mountainside view with a lake will do. Whatever it is, embrace this image and use it often until one day you can be there in reality. These are the places that let our minds drift away into a sense of blissful contentment. Think of when you were a child and what made you happy. Focus on those moments and run with them. Find that sense of peace within and let it flourish like never before.
To really reach new heights of mental focus like this, one should seek out a trained practitioner or teacher of sorts who can help someone re-create inspiring images in their mind. But be careful of the con artists out there. A really good spiritual teacher can help you find more happiness in your life. Yoga is another alternative as it has worked for many.
Even something as simple as walking or hiking while outdoors is really good for the human spirit, working wonders for many people. Quite often we stay indoors far too often. It is good to reconnect to nature and all of its inspiring surroundings. We can learn a lot from nature and what is out there. Look at the animals and how they respond to one another.

Surround yourself with positive energy. If you have no one else, then maybe it’s time to find someone who is right for you. Others might find some joy but adopting a pet or child. Open up your heart to others and don’t only focus on yourself. It is much more rewarding to help others and spread the love sort of speak. In these times, more kindness will go a long way.
Most importantly, remember to breathe and stay positive. Focusing on being a better you to inspire others as well.
