Stop Living a Fake Life – Nobody is Buying It Anyway

Social Media Ain’t Real, Bro!

By Pure CrownPublished 10 months ago 3 min read

Social media is wild these days. One minute, you’re scrolling peacefully, and the next, you see a guy who was complaining about transport fare last week suddenly posing with a Lamborghini. My brother, who are you deceiving?

People are out here living like Hollywood celebrities... on a budget that can barely afford a proper meal. The audacity!

Fake Life Headquarters: Social Media

Ah, social media—the land of rented luxury cars, borrowed designer bags, and vacations that only exist in Google search results. Some of you will take a picture in front of a five-star hotel and caption it: "Soft life, God did!" Meanwhile, you only went inside to use the bathroom.

Others will post pictures in a private jet, acting like they just flew first-class to Dubai. But if we zoom in properly, we’ll see the cleaning crew in the background, mopping the floor.

It’s okay to enjoy your life, but why deceive people? You’re struggling to keep up with a lifestyle that even your bank account finds offensive.

The Pressure to Impress Strangers
The funniest part? Most of the people you’re trying to impress don’t even care. Nobody is thinking about you as much as you think they are. You’re out here taking loans just to show off, meanwhile, the person you’re trying to impress is eating eba and sleeping peacefully.

Who exactly are you competing with? Your landlord, who is waiting for his rent? Your village people, who already know the truth? Relax, nobody sent you!

The Fake Lifestyle Starter Pack
To successfully live a fake life, you need:

A strong camera angle – So you can take pictures with your neighbor’s Benz and act like it’s yours.
A borrowed lifestyle – Wearing your friend’s designer shirt and claiming you bought it in Paris.
A fake accent – Speaking with a British accent when you’ve never left your hometown.
An ‘inspirational’ caption – "Hustle hard, so you don’t tell stories!" (Meanwhile, your hustle is just Photoshop and lies).
Some people will even fake friendships with celebrities. You take a picture with a famous person in the background and write, “Chilling with my bro.” Sir, that man does not know you.

The Real Cost of Fake Life

Fake life is expensive. It’s a full-time job, and you don’t even get paid for it. You’re constantly thinking of how to maintain an image that doesn’t exist. One day, you’re flexing at an expensive restaurant, the next day, you’re eating garri with no sugar.

Even worse, fake life keeps you broke. Instead of saving money or investing, you’re spending everything just to look rich. You’ll rather buy an iPhone 15 on credit than get a decent apartment. Priorities, my dear!

And let’s not forget—fake life is stressful. You have to lie consistently. You say you’re in London, but someone sees you at a local supermarket. Now you have to fake another lie to cover the first one. Exhausting!

Be Yourself – It’s Free and Less Stressful

Here’s a revolutionary idea—just be yourself. It’s not that hard. You don’t need to impress anyone. Your real friends will love you whether you’re drinking champagne or pure water.

If you’re still building your life, own it! You don’t have to fake success to look important. If your reality is that you’re still working hard, embrace it.

Because guess what? People respect realness more than fake perfection. Nobody wants to hear another "I made my first million at 21" story, especially when we all saw you selling second-hand shoes last year.

So stop living for social media likes and focus on building a life that makes YOU happy.

Nobody is buying Your Fake Story

The truth always comes out. One day, someone will expose you, and you’ll become breaking news for all the wrong reasons. Instead of spending energy maintaining a fake lifestyle, use that same energy to actually succeed.

Like they say, “Don’t go broke trying to look rich.” Live your truth, enjoy your journey, and most importantly—stop borrowing your neighbor’s car for Instagram pictures!

Now, tell me—what’s the funniest fake life moment you’ve ever seen? Drop it in the comments!
