Starting over at 28
There comes a point in everyone's life when you tend to see the things in your life you should have completed. For some it's college and others it's a career or family, but for me it was all of those things. I had stopped and looked at my life and realized that I was at the end of the road I had started down and needed to change direction.
At twenty eight years old you'd think I would have my life pretty set and just started on the road to the rest of my life. You would think that by this time I had finished college had started a career and getting ready for kids. To all these things you would be wrong, at this point in life I've already had 2 kids and been engaged. However due to my being a moron and dropping out of school I now had a fiancé and 2 kids with no education. I was hard pressed to say the least especially when it came to work and making a decent living. Believe it or not it's quite challenging getting a good paying job while being a drop out.
So 10 years had gone by at this point from me dropping out of school. I was worried that I was too stupid to pass my GED test so I had put it off. However I had learned that my fiancé was pregnant and I realized at that point I had to do something better. So I sucked it up and put my ego behind and passed my GED test, to my surprise and enrolled into college. Feeling so proud of myself and very optimistic of our future I assumed it was all up hill from here. I would soon realize that nothing changes without a degree in hand and that good intentions mean nothing.
Now being Mr. Big Man on campus, I set out to ace my tests and become a medic, so sure that this would change our lives for the better. I was in school, just had my son, and everything was perfect, till I lost my job due to scheduling conflicts. So now in a panic, I scrambled trying to find something that would accommodate my schedule and also make enough to keep us afloat.
I'll finish this story at a later time so make sure to keep an eye out because starting over at 28 packs nothing but surprises.
