Staying Focused and Healthy During Self-Employment

Establish a regular work routine, whether at home or not. As a freelancer, you can set your own working hours anytime, anywhere. However, in order to develop passive income streams or develop new products, we need to set aside a certain number of working hours each day. Initially, you can work 12-14 hours or more per day. If you're not ready for that time frame, you can gradually increase the time as long as you work consistently. Try to eat regularly. Feeding your body regularly keeps you sharp and focused while energizing your body and brain. Skipping meals for long periods of time (or all at once) can make you less productive, make you fall asleep, make you cranky, and keep you from performing at your best. Be sure to eat legumes. Avoid eating foods with a lot of sugar or salt, as they consume energy. Organic/Natural is best. Cook and prepare your own meals instead of going to a restaurant, club, or bar (as an added bonus, eating at home or packing your lunch in a brown bag will save you extra money)

Drink liquids on all occasions, especially with water. Being dehydrated can make you want to eat snacks and heavy meals that are high in sugar and salt. You trick your brain into thinking you're hungry when you're actually thirsty. Only eat when you are really hungry (usually 4-6 hours after eating). Staying hydrated keeps your brain and body on alert. If you drink coffee or tea, try limiting caffeine a few hours before bed. Avoid carbonated drinks and energy drinks as much as possible. They are diuretics and contain preservatives that make you thirsty prematurely and craving junk food. Season with slices or other fruit.

If you're self-employed and use your smartphone, laptop, or PC for long periods of time, take regular breaks. Take a short walk at least every hour to readjust your eyes for distance vision. Working long hours in front of a computer can make your joints and back stiff and sore, and your eyes blurry and tired. Regular breaks from computer and smartphone screens prevent fatigue and keep your metabolism healthy.

Establish an exercise routine. No need to buy a gym membership to work out or get in shape. A long walk (at least 30 minutes) every day is enough. Regular exercise reduces stress, reinforces effective eating and snacking habits, and keeps your mind sharp.

See your doctor regularly if you can afford it. Staying healthy is paramount to building a business for the long term. If you can't afford regular health insurance (such as COBRA), look for private companies with low monthly fees and high deductibles for the self-employed, or find out how to get partner or spouse health insurance. Please give me.

Try to go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at about the same time every day. A regular sleep and wake routine is essential for maintaining good productivity, healthy energy levels, and proper eating habits. Turn off all electronic devices at least one hour before bedtime. If you travel a lot, adjust your sleep-wake cycle accordingly and make sure you get 6-8 hours of sleep wherever you are. If you need a "night's rest", give your body the sleep it needs after the project is over.

Reward yourself for achieving personal goals and breakthroughs. Rewards can take the form of lunches and dinners (while living below your means, of course!), working out, spending time with your family, exercising or watching a game, driving, or hiking in the woods. Let your rewards fuel your hard work and relax your brain so that new ideas blossom.

Live economically below your income. Assess your personal (or shared, if partner) budget and cut costs where necessary. Don't buy what you don't need. Be especially careful with large purchases that are billed on credit. Pay off all debts if possible. Take a part-time job to supplement your income if necessary. I am moving to a smaller apartment. Buy non-perishable items in bulk. Walk, bike, or use public transportation. Always have an emergency fund ($1,000) on hand.

Seek help from mentors and friends who are successful in your business. Your words of wisdom will help you avoid common mistakes and judgments. Most successful small businesses and entrepreneurs are happy to share their successes with you and give you a boost when you need it.

If you fail in any task, no matter how big or small, see failure as an opportunity for self-improvement or as an aid to planning alternative ways to reach the goals you set. Persistence in building your business is essential. If you give up too early, you will become frustrated with the entrepreneurial process.

Maintain a positive attitude. You don't have to shout from the top of a mountain every day for the whole world to hear. However, to keep your business growing, you need to be passionate and motivated in some way every day. Constantly harboring negative thoughts about what you are doing hinders not only your business growth, but your personal growth as well. Negativity drains our creative and physical energy. Persistent negative attitudes and views are also detrimental to health. Even if you've had the worst day, week, or month, you should look for positive trends to keep moving forward.

After 25 years in college, I decided to get off the hamster wheel and start over as a writer. On my journey to independence, I would like to share my successes and failures, so you can learn from me.
