Every human on the planet now is fighting a personal battle, pushing them into ‘Saving Me Mode.’

medium.com

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in our struggles and feel like we’re fighting a personal battle. “Saving Me Mode” is a relatable concept, highlighting the importance of self-care and prioritizing one’s own well-being. Nancy Anderson

Every human finds themselves here, where to survive, we must put ourselves first.

What do you think is the most challenging part of navigating this mode, and how do you take care of yourself? Nancy Anderson

As a female, we were born to give. Becoming a mother, we give a lot of ourselves to our children. Some give all of themselves, leaving nothing to save them. Thus, they pushed themselves into a corner, where they ultimately found themselves fighting to save themselves with nothing in them. We deny ourselves a level of freedom when we give away all of ourselves. Many mothers do that every day.

I have spent my entire life ensuring that my children are happy and their dreams can be fulfilled, while pushing my own to the back of the line. I was also raising my husband while raising children.

Yes, many females raised husbands, too, while giving them and our world the good we want. We never ran out of takers.

After an empty nest, I have only myself to give to. I didn’t know how to give to myself after a lifetime of giving to children, husband, family, plants, friends, animals, and life.

A different fight for life began.

I was unable to give to myself. It was when life cornered me, along with depression, anxiety, menopause, and empty nest syndrome, which replaced my children, that the pain began to overwhelm me. Insanity looms while I battle change.

Looking around me, I saw family, friends, foes, and our world moving along without me. Nothing stops because I allowed life to put me on pause.

I know life, I didn’t know death, so a fight for life began.

Those who cared visited, said kind words, and then returned to their own lives. #Iintend2survive so I stopped waiting on life. I begin to give to myself what I used to give to everyone. I make time for what brings me happiness without harm to others. Yoga, meditation, walking on my treadmill, cycling on my recumbent bike, watching the sun rise and set while walking, and creating art. Writing to inspire, encourage, and motivate you with my power of words, along with wisdom, common sense, love, and understanding of life and humanity. I love cooking, baking, thinking, laughing, being myself without fear, and sharing kindness with others. I water my plants, feed birds and dogs, and help anyone if I can. I set limits and boundaries, and stick to them.

I started to give the good I want. I began prioritizing my sanity to survive. That’s what we are fighting for: to stay sane, aware, and healthy. Taking care of me was so simple and easy. I get along with myself like the heat gets along with summer and the cold gets along with winter. Lol

I do everything for a reason, allowing humans to give me one. That way, I am left with fewer regrets and more freedom to be me.

I have a reason to wake up every morning, and I am happy too. I don’t have to beg or borrow. I can eat two meals per day, and most of the time, it’s what I want to eat. I can pay my bills on time, and my children are living their lives without my help. I can see, hear, speak, and walk. I don’t have to cheat, scheme, or lie to anyone to get what I want. I can give love and kindness without strings or pain. I have a lot to be grateful for.

I can give without taking, and that is Power.

If I die today, I die happy, leaving my world better than how I came into it.
