Pillow Talk Poems

I love to create cards, pillows, shirts, and whatever comes to mind! I use iron-on transfer sheets and cut out my creations. I design pillowcases for friends and family members. It could be a birthday, anniversary, or a welcome home celebration. I just like to capture the moment and design a pillow to match. I also design pillowcases to simply uplift someone's day. I usually take the person's picture and create an acrostic poem that embodies his/her personality. I have a full-time job and family, but creating memorable pillows represents one of my passions. I create everything at home and hope that one day I can turn my passion/hobby into a small business, but until then I will continue to try to brighten people's day! The pillowcase that I have created here isn't a picture of an actual magazine, it's simply clip art and a background scene!

I enjoy uplifting people's day and seeing them smile too. When I personalize shirts, cards, and other items I like to include a bit of their personality in my creations too. As I teacher, I often use these items as rewards and gifts for students. It is amazing how a small gift can actually brighten a person's day. The personalized items served as an awesome rewards system for students of all ages. Just to see the smile on a child's face as he/she receives their personalized gifts pushed me to continue to make more! As children are growing and developing, it is important to speak greatness over their lives! I used this opportunity to make poems and encouraging cards for many students. I would use adjectives to describe their personalities in various acrostic poems and on their pillows. Sometimes the students would tell me that they did not feel like learning challenging material. However, I made sure that I built them up and encouraged them all numerous times per day to remind them that they can achieve greatness. I just feel blessed to have the opportunities to motivate, teach, and encourage through words and creating gifts!

When I create greeting cards, I make them for all occasions too. I enjoy making cards that inspire and add cheer. I believe that we can encourage one another everyday, and we should not wait for a holiday just to spread love and cheer! I've also created his and her aprons and other matching accessories!

However, one of my most memorable projects includes planning a birthday party with various personalized items. I designed and printed labels for everything that I could think of for my friend's birthday celebration. I wanted her to feel special and loved! I printed stickers for the drinks and water bottles. I used an edible image for the cake that included her picture. I used personalized labels for the treat bags and balloons. I simply made sure that her name, picture, and personality was reflected everywhere!

I am passionate about spreading joy and being creative. I know that everyone needs joy and appreciation on a regular basis. As I continue to create and design more pillowcases, I want to be able to reach more people! I want to spread love, hope, and joy to others. Sometimes I create pillowcases for people that I do not know personally. However, their friends and or family members tell me about them as I create cards and other personalized gifts. I receive great feedback from the recipients that state that despite not knowing them, I was still able to capture their personality traits within my designs. I hope to continue my creative journey and complete many more parties and projects!
