Morning Habits for Healthy Mind

10-Second Rules

By Bilal khan Published 4 months ago 2 min read

If you wake up every morning feeling tired, have trouble focusing, and keep checking your phone without finishing anything, this story is for you. You will learn how to start your day in a great way with ten morning habits that can help you stay focused, reduce stress, and even sleep better at night. You do not need to start all habits at once—begin with one and slowly add more. I will also share a simple “ten-second rule” that makes building these habits easier. This story can really change your life, so let us get started!

1. Make your bed

Jordan Peterson, in his book 12 Rules for Life, says making your bed in the morning is a simple habit that can help you. When your bed is neat, you feel like you have done something good. This small success can give you energy to do more things during the day.

A student once asked Peterson: “There are so many big problems in the world—pollution, global warming, people without enough food or shelter, dirty water, a failing economy, and rising suicide rates. How will advice like ‘make your bed’ help?”

Peterson replied: “If a person cannot even bring order to their own home, how can they fix the world outside?”

Making your bed shows that even if life feels messy, you can take small steps to make things right. Science also supports this—people who make their beds in the morning are often more productive. Even soldiers are taught this habit because it builds discipline and pride.

2. Drink water

After sleeping, your body loses water, which makes you feel tired. Drinking one or two glasses of water when you wake up helps you feel awake and full of energy.

3. Stretch your body

Sleeping in the same position makes your muscles stiff and slows blood flow. Stretching for two minutes in the morning improves blood circulation and gives you energy. You can also try five minutes of yoga to keep your joints strong and reduce stress.

4. Get sunlight

Most people do not get enough sunlight because we stay indoors all day. Going outside in the morning for a short walk or just standing in the sun gives you energy, helps your sleep, and makes your brain more active.

5. Read something inspiring

While getting sunlight, read a book like You Can Win by Shiv Khera. This makes you feel positive, instead of looking at your phone and seeing negative news.

6. Plan your day

Do not just react to whatever comes your way. Decide on the three most important tasks you want to finish first. Do these before anything else.

7. Use the ten-second rule

Try to start tasks ten seconds faster. For example, keep a book in front of you so you can pick it up quickly and start reading.

8. Take deep breaths

Deep breathing brings oxygen to your body, increases energy, and keeps your mind clear.

9. Reflect

Think about your day. Are you moving closer to your goals? What can you do to get back on the right path if needed?

10. Write something

Spend a few minutes writing your thoughts and feelings. This is called a “Morning Page.”

11. Listen to music

Music affects your mood. Listen to music that makes you feel happy and positive.

If you go through this story, like it and write “Yes I Will” in the comments so I know you have read it.

Keep reading, keep learning, and thank you for watching!
