Mindset Revolution - 2022
Setting Boundaries & Realistic Goals
Instead of claiming what I am going to do, I aim to manifest into the present, that which I want to accomplish in this life. Whether it be to become more fit or a better partner in my relationships, cook more or dance more often - less thought, more action. I'm going to state that I am: dancing, cooking, caring and healthy. This means I will have to show up for myself by doing something to get me to become the person I am meant to be. Otherwise, I'll just feel shame for blatantly lying to myself, and there's no fun in that.
What's the first thing you do when you look at yourself in the mirror after waking up? Call out imperfections? Note any changes like a new pimple, stubborn eyebrow hair or a crease in your face left by your pillow? Instead, why not stretch into your bones and embrace the skin your in. Look at yourself straight into your soul and say, "I am beautiful, strong and healthy!" Even if you don't feel like you are. You'll become more motivated to eat right in the morning and throughout your day to embody that health you told yourself you have. You'll exude at least 0.005% more confidence either through your outfit selection or grooming choices. You will also most likely find the strength you need for the challenges that get in your way throughout the day ahead.
Setting ourselves up for personal success starts with our internal relationships even before we awaken.
I am to kick habits that kept me less focused and productive, wasting my time rather using it to serve me.
Binge watching new shows and films can be fun for a while, but it should not be routine.
"I'm reading good books or writing in my journal before going to bed."
Consciously show yourself you care.
I'm a big fan of eco-friendly products that are wholesome and safe for our bodies and the natural environment. One of my favorite things to do before bed is hydrate my skin with delicious lotion. Relaxing, nourishing and a personal act of love - "I'm hydrating my skin by moisturizing and drinking water almost every night."
Another top goal of mine that I have yet to implement is to make my bed and change my sheets more often! I know, we shed dead skin and hair every day and I shouldn't let my dog sleep in bed with me. But I never seem to find the time to make my bed cleaner or tidier for the life of me. Especially if I'm moisturizing, I have to motivate my skin to stay rejuvenated and alive, not brushing against yesterday's past. That will change.
"I'm washing my sheets once a week and making my bed every other day."
However, making and cleaning your bed should be routine for any adult human with capacity and self-respect. Yet, you can step the self-care bar up a notch by investing in sustainably sourced bamboo or cotton bedding! Soft and healthier than the polyester plastic quilts and blankets we've become used to, getting a blissful nights sleep will only be easier. That way, in the morning you are ready to:
"I'm stretching/doing Yoga or writing in the morning."
For me, starting and ending my days are the most valuable moments of my personal time. Making these routines commonplace will help me prioritize my creativity and make time to focus my energy through self care and writing. "I am powerful and make daily decisions with loving-kindness."
Cheers to 2022 being the year we've been waiting for.
