We all want to add new habit to our life and stick to them, but as we all know, it’s really hard and within weeks we go back to our old routine. That is also my story. I read lots of self-help books and tried different apps. I even started to believe that this thing was never going to work for me and almost gave up 😶
Things that worked for me
- Breaking goal into small habits.
- Stacking habit to add them to my existing routine.
- Making my friend an “accountability partner”.
- Daily journaling.
- And “Hourly Notification”
- Weekly challenges.
So, I’m a programmer, so I implemented all these tools in one app and named it “Micro Habits”
So let’s start with
1. Select goals that you can complete.
We set goals that are too difficult for our own skill level or we set goals that are really easy.
Both too difficult or too easy are the worst ways to set goals, because if you set a goal too difficult, you will not be able to complete it because of burnout or you will simply stop working towards that goal. And if we set our goals too easy, we will get bored and stop working towards them. The best way to set a goal is to set incremental goals where you start small and increase the level of your goal daily, weekly, or monthly. So start small and increase the difficulty of your goal in a progressive manner.
2. Breaking Goal into small habits.
You can’t achieve any goal by just setting a goal and a deadline. You have to make some fundamental changes in your life to achieve your goal, which is micro-habits. When you are setting goals, you have to think about habits: which habits you have to add to your life and which habits you have to eliminate to achieve your goals.
It’s the most important part of setting the goal.
Here is an example of one goal.

3. Routines
Routines are a combination of your new habit with an existing habit. This technique is a good way to start integrating your new habit with an existing routine. Everyone has a morning routine, such as making bed->brushing teeth->drinking coffee, and you can easily add a new habit, such as going for a 10-minute walk after drinking coffee.

4. Accountability partner
Add an accountability partner, who can track your progress and keep you on track with your goals. Your accountability partner can notify you about specific goals to complete or acknowledge your progress. Keeping an accountability partner can greatly increase the possibility of you keep doing your habits daily and achieving your goals.

5. Daily journaling
Writing a daily journal is one of the most important habits that you can integrate into your life. It helps you make daily decisions, which helps you stick to your habits and makes you appreciate your day.

6. Hourly Notification & other settings
Hourly notifications help you get back from distraction every hour.

7. Weekly challenge
Weekly challenges are mostly for self-improvement, and you can participate in a weekly challenge every week.
8. Profile & Stats

Conclusion.
These tools make “Micro Habits” an app which can help you stick to your new habit easily.
Try it out on android.
IOS app will be available soon.
I’d love to hear your thoughts :)
