Meet “KeemTheTruth”

What’s your name and where are you from?

Hakeem Hughes professionally known as “KeemThe Truth” and I’m from Indianapolis, Indiana but I currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia

Why do you love what you do?

I love what I do because music is influential, it can brighten or deepen a mood or feelings. It’s a form of expression and you can be your true self behind that mic and share your story in a way that people can understand, feel, or visualize just from your Melodies and voice. Seeing people sing and dance to my songs make my day because they are enjoying themselves. Hearing my daughter tell people to play her daddy song makes me love what I’m doing. This is something I can be proud of and take pride in because I’m making somebody day, or I’m helping somebody get over a break up or battle depression just from my voice.

What makes you different?

I feel like I’m different because of my style and my ability to not put myself in one genre. I label myself as “The Vibe” for a reason. I can do any cadence, tempo, flow pattern, or melody needed to make a record sound good. I’m also not afraid to step outside of my comfort zone and dip into new styles or genres.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years I’m manifesting myself to be on sold out dates and being a gold or platinum selling artists. I want to be on all the major festivals, working with major features and labels to create projects.

What do you want to accomplish in life?

Stability! That’s been something I always for my life is stability. It’s something I’ve never experienced too much growing up and even now in my adult life, things are always changing. Everything goes up and down and I just want to be able to be stable and have stable income, relationships, and my career to better provide for my family.

What do you bring to your industry?

I bring passion, and hard work. I take pride in my and my craft. I bring a multitude of sounds and styles that can help take somebody label to another level. Im different with my look, my lingo, and my sound. My stage presence is one of my biggest assets! I’ve been told people love when I perform people actually look forward to me getting on stage. My energy, my passion, and my focus when I’m performing I feel like is fresh and unique. I also study the business, I’m always learning new things and making new discoveries within the music industry. I also bring a team around me ready to work from management, business partner, my own label imprint, other artists, security, everything you need I have it already in place ready to work. Just need a chance for somebody to believe in me like I know I do and show them why they need me.

What do you want to be remembered by?

I want to be remembered for being the guy that everybody knew could give you good music and killer performance to match! I want people to say “Keem had a song for every mood.” I want to be remembered like my performances are talked about among the greatest to ever to do. I want the plaques and awards to forever put my name in history that’s the memory I want to be in people’s minds. That one or multiple of my albums or projects are listed on some of the greatest of all time lists. That’s why I named myself “Keem The Truth” cause being a nickname of “The Truth” that means you good at what you do.
