Less Talking, More Listening

Some people think that they know everything. Telling somebody this, telling somebody that. But what you need to do is sit down somewhere. Thank God that walls can't talk.

It’s a shame that some people believe they know everything. They know what’s best for everybody. She knows she shouldn’t be wearing that. He knows he doesn’t need to be dating her. Do us all a favor: Practice minding your business and being quiet. Truth be told, the person that knows everything needs to take a look in the mirror, a good hard look and see that they have some flaws too.

We all have flaws. I accept my flaws and keep it moving because I’m aware that I don’t know everything. Why is it that a person who is overweight thinks its okay to call somebody else fat? Guess what? You don’t know everything. The person could have health problems. Look in the mirror because its clear that you are drunk and in love but unlike Beyonce’s song, u are drunk from stupidity and you love yourself to the point where you think its okay to talk about somebody. Remember that while you are talking about that person, everybody, whether you know it or not, and they wont tell you, is talking about you.

Life is for living. We aren’t dictionaries or encyclopedias. Look up the word everything. I guarantee you that nobody’s face is beside it. Not mine. Not yours. It’s a waste of time to sit around discussing what you think you know. Wisdom is not age-related. You can be the oldest person in the world with no common sense and there can be someone younger than you with book sense and common sense all in one. Never think that because a person is older than you means that they are wise. Excuse my statement: you are supposed to get older and wiser, not older and dumber. Sorry, my mouth has no filter on that one.

Perfection does not exist in an unperfect world. We weren’t designed to be perfect. The Lord knew that when he made us so we need to stop acting like we know it all, have it all together and have it like that because we don’t. I don’t care what you think you know or what you have, you still don’t know everything because every day, you experience something different.

Okay, know it all person. Look back over your life at some of the decisions you made. You made some stupid ones, some good ones and some bad ones. But it defined you as a person. You are where you are for a reason. Remember that. The Lord put you in somebody’s path to help them, not hurt them. Use your experiences to help the person. After all, somebody taught you so why not teach somebody else? Let your mouth have a filter for a change and help boost somebody’s confidence instead of tearing them down.

Its okay to speak about things you know about but keep your two cents out of things you know nothing about. An opinion vs. wanting to be nosy are 2 different things. People need to learn the difference between wisdom and knowledge and being outright stupid. Which one you choose to be is up to you. Some people have also been called wise beyond their years because they are mature for their age. I love to hear someone say that about a person.

Nobody should be trying to tell somebody about their life. I cant live yours, you cant live mine. To conclude my story, I say this: Words carry power so watch what you say. Be careful what comes up because you might not intend for it to come out. (don’t speak without thinking).
