Float On
Just a few months ago I was driving in my truck with my boyfriend and said, “You know what? I really feel like I made it in life.” I had a full-time job doing what I love. I had a brand-new truck that I was paying for on my own without parental help. I had my own health insurance. I recently started traveling and had seen damn near almost all the United States. I saw all the major landmarks that were on my bucket list: the Grand Canyon, the Redwoods, Las Vegas, the Hoover Dam, Washington D.C., and basically all of New England. I started hiking and set goals for myself that I reached easily within a few short years. I hiked Mount Washington, I hiked in Zion, I hiked nearly every trail in my home state of Massachusetts. I hiked so much I ran out of places to go locally. I really felt like I had found my niche in life and that I really made it. Even if I was living paycheck to paycheck, I had enough to pay bills and still go out every weekend with friends for lunch, or travel up north to hike. I recently graduated community college with an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. I transferred to a state school to complete a Bachelor's.

8 Useful New Year's Resolutions from Bridget Jones
We're a week in to the New Year - 'New Year, New Me' posts aplenty. However, some of us seem to have difficulty to kickstart our resolutions unless all holiday leftovers are gone. Bridget Jones has inspired me to write a New Year's resolution post, having seen Bridget Jones's Diary (with a comprehensive mind; I last saw it when I was 8) on New Year's day. To help (me) you (and everyone we know) to be inspired as well, here are some of Bridget Jones' New Year's resolutions that are well worth giving some thought.

New Year, Same You
Every year Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc., flood with the slogan "New Year, New Me." People plan for their new self with healthy recipes, following exercise accounts, and making a new Instagram for their health transformation. Working hard to create new beneficial habits is admirable and wise; as long as it's approached in a healthy way, it's more than good.

Perfectly Imperfect
I am perfectly imperfect. There may be perfect moments, perfect timing, perfect weather, and perfect outfits but a human being is not perfect. I don't think any being is perfect because we all make mistakes. We cry at simple moments whether they're happy, mad or sad tears. We are all our own person.

A Moment of Inspiration
As part of my plan of becoming a better version of myself and a better human being, I'm going to starting a new series called "My 30 Days of Gratitude." I've spent so many years fighting, arguing, and rebelling against life that I have lost myself in the process. I failed school, I hooked up with horrible guys, I partied all night every night, and I destroyed my relationship with my family. Continuing on this path, I would be so far down into a dark hole, I'm not sure I would be able to get back out. Before the new year approached, I had already planned on making some changes in my life. So many positive, life-changing things have already happened in 2018 that I'm going to be doing a complete lifestyle cleanse. Get rid of the old, bring in the new. And new me is taking a stand on my life. To kick off this lifestyle change, I will be writing about something I'm grateful for every day for the next 30 days.

When I Got a Second Chance at Life
This sounds too cliché, doesn't it? Getting a second chance at life after a tragedy occurred, and how it changed my perspective. I also believed it to be completely cliché, until it actually happened to me. And yes, it did turn my life around for good. The only part that was missing was the tragedy part, and I'm thankful for that. You know how everyone says, "You know the things that you've always wanted to do? You should do them."? that's exactly me. I really do live by the ideal that we get only one life, and it's our responsibility to make it worth living. But an event occurred that forced me to change my ideals.

The Basics of Hygge — Finding Happiness
The Danish are said to be the happiest people in the world. This has been decided by the good people at The Happiness Institute which is based in Denmark—you know, on account of all the happy there is to study there. They put it down to the Danish way of hygge (hoo-ga).

One Way, and Only Way
You ever had any great things you wanted to do? You start by planning everything in your head and think how great they will be for you. Sometimes you may even write them down, but when it comes to doing them, suddenly your mind tells you they're not important anymore, so you never do them.

New Year, New Me... Again
New Years Resolutions It's that time of year again, the one where everyone is signing up for gym memberships, buying those new Nike runners from SportChek and setting their new year resolutions higher than probably maintainable. The thing is, everyone does it. Everyone says... "This year, I will be sure to...." and the majority of the time (not always) it never happens. See, I have said for the past at least ten years of my life, every year on December 31st, that it was going to be my year to lose weight. "I will have those abs by college next year." "I will have that beach bod." But did I accomplish that ten years later? No, not at all. After ten years, where I could have been putting in effort, instead, dinner dates with the girls or binge-watching Netflix seemed like such a more attractive idea. I guess the motivation just wasn't there, and I still to this day do not understand why.

Do I Love and Accept Myself?
I love myself. I enjoy being me and my own company. I accept all that I have done and will do, good or bad. These are all very powerful sayings and many people repeat them incessantly. How many of us speak them, do you really believe them? I think that all humans will always battle against the sense of truly loving ourselves and accepting ourselves genuinely. All of us are called to enjoy being with ourselves, to love all of the parts of our lives. Do we truly believe it will be easy to accept oneself and not be seen as a prideful individual? Now as all things in life, we must be cautious on one hand and not so much on the other end.

How Someone Who is Autistic, Can Achieve Success
If there is one thing that I've learned throughout my life, it's that failure is the catalyst for success. My name is Stephen Cuomo, I am 22 years of age and I have autism spectrum disorder or Asperger's syndrome. When I was younger, my behavior was out of control: I beat my siblings, disrespected my parents, and a bunch of other horrendous things that make me cringe to think about. My parents denounced the possibilities of living a normal life, my brothers and sister wouldn't associate with me, and I was bullied. However, I knew for a fact that I wouldn't let that be the case. Fast forward to now, I am one semester close to graduating, I currently have a 3.8 grade point average, I have a car, and I have a few jobs.
