Roots
"Do you want to be liked or do you want to be loved?" That’s a hard question, right? For some, it would be easier to answer, and for others, it can be troublesome. But what does the research say? "The Secret to Happiness: Feeling Good or Feeling Right" talks about just that. The article begins with a depicted comparison of Aristotle and Contemporary Research. In his early findings, Aristotle was one of the many founders of theory in the world of psychology. He primarily focused on the psyche, a word used to describe both the mind and soul, to develop a rough framework of human behavior, reasoning, and impulses. Aristotle also believed that the more we process how we truly feel, the happier we are. The article state that “such emotions are not necessary pleasant emotions and may even be unpleasant, like anger or fear. Indeed, Aristotle held that the absence of unpleasant emotions was not an indicator of happiness. Instead, happiness is linked to feeling unpleasant emotions when they are appropriate and goal conducive” (Tamir, Schwartz, Oishi, & Kim, 2017).

Success for Shy People
There are two kinds of ways to live a great life: there is economic success and there is social success. Economic success is when you have a job and you're able to buy things you need like food, transportation, and shelter, and social success is your ability to talk to people and make friends—something that is a lot more personal.

How to: Just Start
After being married for only six months, my wife and I decided to start a business. Now over a year later, we have over 8k true, organic followers on Instagram and close to 500 pre-signed up clients! This is without any paid marketing efforts, no Facebook ads, Craigslist ads, or anything of that sort. So, how in the world did we end up with such a following? I'll get to that...

Trying Something Newish...
I have erased and retyped this sentence more times than I can count. I am a little stuck on how exactly to start this blog. How awful is it that I am already stuck, and this is my first one yet? I guess I will start it like this. My name is Ayana and this is my blog. I am hoping to start of light ya know? Something that shows me. In every form that she comes. To start off, I would like to give you a little background on why exactly I'm attempting this again. Oh yes you saw the word again. This isn't my first go around. When I was younger I used to write. Not like those "I hate Becky for stealing my boyfriend" type of writing but the type that moved you if you read it. It's the type where you stop and ask, did you really write this or did you steal it from somewhere? No I didn't steal it from anywhere, it was me who wrote it obviously. I am not the type of lady who toots her own horn because quite frankly there isn't a horn to toot. Although I was an excellent writer, and it makes me feel weird that I ever stopped. I am not sure what happened; let's just say that I lost my creativeness? I am not even sure if that's a word but lets just go with it.

How to Be Perfect
One day I got fooled by this theme. At first my topic was a little bit different. But the best thing is that I came up with the new answer. For a very long time, I believed and said that imperfection is the true beauty. So when I began to write about it, by the end of it, I had an “A-HA” moment. Suddenly I understood that I was completely wrong. And I have to share this with you.

Leadership
Leadership in today's world is on the decline. True leadership doesn't come with a price tag or a need to succumb to the norm or popular view of society. Leadership stems from a person's conscientious actions to improve society for good and accomplish largely unpopular goals because it is what's right. It doesn't serve one person's personal agenda at the expense of others. Leadership is the selfless act for a righteous cause according to integrity and having the courage to see the cause through to its final conclusion.

An Introduction to Myself
I've decided to tell you, the reader, about myself. For what reason? That is a great question that doesn’t really have an answer. But I do know that I felt that it's always good to remind yourself of who you are. I first wrote this during my senior year in high school, and if you have read my post “What High School Taught Me," you know I was a good student who got along with everyone. But sometimes it's not about who you are around or to other people, it's about who you are to yourself. It is good to see that I was honest with myself. However, I will say that I’ve definitely changed, for the better...I think. One thing that I want people to get out of this is that it's OK to think you are someone, but it's even better to KNOW that you are someone. I spent so much time in a small bubble, where I would keep to myself, and that's OK, because they day I broke free from it, I never looked back. So this is an introduction to myself.

Moving Soul and Dreaming Feet: The Accidental Story of a Girl Who Connected Her Passion with Academics
I YELLED about it, I INHALED you in, I LIVED without it, Where you STOP is the place where I BEGIN. Looking back, I realize my journey, like all of ours, is indebted to certain beautiful people who stood strong by us, unconditionally. For me, it starts with Mrs. Anand, my high school psychology teacher. Whenever I think of her, a sudden wave of motivation passes through my mind and body, as she was the person who first gave me the gift of trust, in myself.

How To Be a Decent Human Being
Seems pretty simple right? Well I have at least 20 experiences to say otherwise. With all the chaos going on in the world today it’s as if people kind of lost what it means to be a nice person (or maybe they are being that way on purpose?). Either way, this post is a refresher for everyone. Even I have days where I forget how simple acts of kindness can go a long way. If you are reading this thinking “these are stupid, no one cares,” well then you might as well put yourself in the bad egg category.

Creating
When I take a deep breath and breathe the air that surrounds me, all that I am inhaling is lust for creation. I found myself learning what my biggest passion in life is. Sometimes people are young knowing what their passion is and they continue to work on it daily. Sometimes people are well into their adulthood when they find what they are truly passionate about. For me, I knew when I was younger I fell in love with art and creating. When I was younger, I would write screenplays, dance, write poetry, and all sorts of that realm. I just did not pursue art when I become a teen because I felt like it was a joke. I felt that since I was not good at it, I should not be doing it. That was my biggest mistake. I think the most important thing in doing anything you are passionate about whether you are good or not is doing it so consistently that you will undoubtedly become somewhat decent at it.
