A Guide to Happiness
Happy. Feeling content. Showing pleasure, being carefree. There are many many definitions of staying happy, but they don't apply to everyone. For a lot of people out there, as well as myself, it can be hard to find a reason to stay happy. There can be so many things that can come in the way of our happiness, and it sucks. We don't have any control over our emotions, for example, when you hear about something happy, your initial reaction is excitement and joy but if you get sad news, or something goes wrong it can make you very sad. I think of our lives as an emotional roller coaster. Sometimes its going up, but sometimes it's going way down. But fear not, I'm here to tell you five ways you can stay happy, no matter what. :) Now this is just a guide, it may not help you, but you may find it helpful. This is just what I think might help you.

Revival...
A wise human once told me, "A person can die at 30 but be buried at 73," she then waited so what she had said could really sink in. She proceeded to explain that when people become used to routine, days seem to pass you by and yet you continue to wake up, go to the same lousy job working 9 to 5, come home, eat a crappy meal and just sit there while the silence becomes so loud, it eventually makes you have a mental breakdown. She said that people are so unmotivated to make a change, but not for lack of effort. But for FEAR.

The Stage that Changed Everything
Imagine you walk into an abandoned house with rats scratching at the floorboards and mold eating away at the foundation of the walls, you feel your body reacting to the stench of the living room involuntarily causing you to hold back tears in your eyes. You then look over at your mother expecting the same intense reaction, but all you see are her lips forming the words, “We’ll take it!”—surprising everyone, even the landlord that's renting us this horrific home. This was my entire childhood and every house that we moved to from day one only got worse. In my experience, life is all about changes. Just when you think nothing will change, everything does. Growing up, I didn’t have a very healthy childhood. My family was very dysfunctional, and I felt as if I didn’t belong anywhere. Looking back, I would’ve never even considered joining theatre based on everything going on around me; luckily had the opportunity to walk through those dimly lit doors to the stage that would change my life forever. Theatre helped me overcome my shyness while creating powerful friendships and changing my life for the better.

Declutter Your Life
January is usually the time where we try to start fresh with new goals or habits. April rolls around and we try to get rid of all our things that we don't need/want anymore and make room for summer items. Doing these things and starting over is so refreshing for your house, closet and all things materialistic, but what about your mind? What things are you still holding onto that you know you need to let go? When are you going to start making room for new things to fill your mind and help you flourish into the person you want to become.

How to Stop Over-Baking (Your Thoughts)
Recently, I have been into baking. Very. It is not the idea that having all the good food to eat after I bake that interests me, but rather the idea of escaping from the reality. The truth is, I double-bake (is that even a word?) Right now, I am baking a mocha cake along with chocolate chip cookies. Not sure how they’d turn out because my eyes selectively become blind when it comes to recipes.

Stress
Stress! Stress is a mental or emotional strain which is caused from extreme pressure or tension. Stressing is the way that your body tells you that enough is enough and it just can't take anymore. Stress puts pressure on you mentally and physically. There are so many different things that can cause stress. The list is endless, and what may be stressful to you may not be stressful to me; everyone is different and everyone handles stress very differently. Some people can be stressed out when there is a major change in their life, like losing a job or starting a new school.

The Houses of the Zodiac: House #6
Do you know what your birth chart says? Or, do you even know what a birth chart is? Your birth chart is based off of the time, location, and date of your birth. At the time when you were born, every planet and star and thing up there in the universe was in a specific place. Doesn't seem like it matters, but it absolutely does. Your birth chart displays where all those planets and stuff were, and this contributes to the magic that is your personality.

Loving
Loving ourselves comes difficulty, much more so than loving others. We as people tend to look past flaws in others and love them as they are, or even embrace flaws as strengths while focusing on the flaws in ourselves and damning ourselves for them. We, as a species, want to give love but have forgotten how to, and I believe it stems from damning ourselves. If we don't love ourselves, we have difficulty understanding how to love others, myself included.

Life Is a Puzzle That's Never Solved
Life. A seemingly simple word, but the meaning is a bit more complex than one would imagine. The dictionary definition of life is "the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to the environment through changes originating internally." However, this is not the only way to define life. Ask yourself this question; ask yourself what you believe life really means and what it is. What is life really? The answer to that, to me at least, is almost as elusive as the definition of the word "normal." It is my personal opinion that life is defined, not by the actual definition, but by each and every person living on this Earth. Life is defined by their actions and personalities, for each person's life is different. Life has a different meaning for each person, culture, and country.
