Deprogramming the 'Perfect or Nothing' Mentality About Bullet Journaling
Bullet Journaling is a method that has really helped me to regain some control over my days. I think that everyone deserves to give themselves a fair shot at it to see how it can actually help them.

Why You Are Only Surviving and Not Thriving
This morning my mom (47 years old) asked me if I thought I was better than her. Flabbergasted, and a little bit offended, I asked her why. According to her, I just think I'm better than her because I live in a 2,500 sqft home, I have my own business, my fiance makes a great amount of money (45k+/yr), and we have our puppy and our son to go along with us, yet we aren't struggling one bit. To which I responded, "No??? Why would I think I'm better than you??? You're my mom. If I actually thought that, that would make me a pretty bratty kid" (I used other words, but we can't curse here so 😂).

Heart in a Jar
What a violent way to end. With my heart in a jar, sitting in a dusty shelf in some weirdo’s office... that is not what happened. And I am very much alive. Truly alive, as some would say... this is not Once Upon a Time (TV show, not for kids—thank you, ABC), where you can just rip someone’s heart out with them still breathing, alive and well. This is not about a jealous step mother seeing her step daughter, and wanting nothing more than her heart, so she could just be done with this narrative. No. My apologies to those who enjoy such stories (I am one of them). I’m speaking in a more figurative fashion. I put my heart in a jar, because it was causing a little too much trouble, and I saw where it was leading... nowhere.

How to Know When You're Doing Too Much
I found myself on my vacation day in bed sick, stuffy nose, achy, and exhausted. This was a bummer for me because in reality I was planning on using my vacation day from the office as a working on my tasks and chores kind of day. I wanted to catch up more on office work, get more forms organized for my blog, write more blog posts, finish some paintings for upcoming art shows, start some new paintings, needed to do laundry, had some research topics to tackle, clean and organize my room… the list was forever long (geez just thinking about all these to-do's makes me exhausted).

The Emotional Scale
Emotions vibrate at certain frequencies. Learn about the frequencies so that you can take charge of how you feel. David Hawkins suggests that you can muscle test yourself or others to determine just where you are vibrating at. Are you enlightened? Are you depressed? These are two vibrations that are at either end of the scale.

Jabaja: Part I
It's been a while since my first post - four months, to be exact - which was a manifestation of the grim and not-so-sober encumbrance of "life without Larry." Much has changed since then. For better or for worse, change is the only thing that's stayed consistent in my life and I am only just recently learning how much I value that change - despite the mental and emotional endurance it so brazenly demands of me.

You Do Have a Choice
You do have a choice. I chose self-love. It became unbearable to choose anything else. I use ‘choose’ relatively; many things do not feel like choices. I thought I did not have a choice for most of my life, because if I did anything different from what I was supposed to, I risked punishment and potentially losing my family. In simple terms, I grew up in a cult. Literally.

Pain Has a Purpose—Use It!
In a world of 'Good vibes only', it leaves us to question: Is there a place for the 'Baddie vibes,' besides the deep pit in your stomach of denial? Can't we just lose ourselves in humour and distraction by imagining them in cute little biker jackets and shades, or as super-villains shrouded in capes and mystery causing trouble instead?

Is Repetition a Detriment to Our Creativity?
If you’ve read some of my thoughts and articles before you already know my answer to this. If you haven’t come across anything I’ve shared, my answer is… YES. Don’t get me wrong, repetition is useful and purposeful in many cases, but it definitely takes away from your true personal identity. It takes away from what makes you an individual, and let me tell you why.

The Key
At first glance it may look like just a key. In fact, it is just a key. It is what the key represents to me that really matters. It's the journey that led to the key. This is the key that opens the door to my future. It's the key to my passion and my purpose. It is the key to my souls mission. It's the key to my very own business. A business I built in my heart with the intended purpose of helping others find their light. I have finally discovered my purpose and I have never felt as free as the moment I held that key in my hand for the first time.
