Jesus received news of Lazarus' illness. Surprisingly, instead of rushing to his side, Jesus purposefully chose to stay where He was for an additional two days. At first glance, this decision may appear perplexing, but it holds a profound lesson that God wants to teach us. He desires us to remain unwavering in our confidence in Him, regardless of the circumstances we face. Our problems do not serve as triggers for God to swiftly act; instead, through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, God has already made His move, assuring us of His unwavering love and provision.

Every aspect of our lives unfolds within the context of God's meticulous plan. In Ephesians 1:10, the Apostle Paul reveals that God's plan operates in harmony with His perfect timing, working to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under the authority of Christ. As believers, we have been chosen and predestined according to the purpose of God's will. This understanding reminds us that if God intends to accomplish something, He will do so at the precise moment He deems fitting. In the case of Lazarus, God's plan involved his resurrection.

While Martha and Mary fervently desired healing for their brother, Jesus had something far greater in mind. His plan extended beyond mere restoration to the magnificent miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead. The depths of God's plans for our lives are unfathomable. He goes above and beyond our limited expectations, offering blessings that surpass our wildest dreams. If Jesus had arrived merely to heal Lazarus, only the immediate family would have rejoiced. However, by purposefully waiting until a multitude had gathered, Jesus ensured that a greater number of people would witness and hear of the miracle simultaneously. Thus, what initially seemed like a sad and unfortunate situation turned into an awe-inspiring testimony of God's power.

In times of pain and suffering, it is not uncommon for people to discuss our hardships, even those who are meant to provide comfort. Unfortunately, some may even add to our trials by criticizing or finding fault. I have personally experienced instances where individuals who were supposed to be a source of solace ended up inflicting additional pain through their critical words. Similarly, when Jesus did not immediately respond to the call for help, people likely commented, expressing condolences and questioning why the renowned healer did not come to Lazarus' aid. However, what they failed to comprehend was that God always has a superior plan. While their desire was for Lazarus to be healed, God's intention was to resurrect him. Let us not settle for mediocrity or lesser blessings. Instead, let us fervently seek God's best for our destinies. Do not be content with meager accomplishments; instead, strive for God's best in your ministry and every area of life. Never underestimate what God has in store for you, for He has so much more to offer than you can fathom.

In conclusion, the story of Lazarus reminds us of the importance of trusting in God's timing and His grand plan. We must not be discouraged when faced with delays or apparent setbacks, for God's purposes unfold according to His perfect schedule.
