Have you ever found yourself pondering the place of luxurious timepieces like Rolex in heaven? This intriguing question prompts us to delve deeper into the nature of God's time. In essence, the answer is a resounding no. The Almighty, being all-knowing and eternal, does not rely on a physical watch to keep track of time. The concept of time as we understand it holds no sway in the heavenly realm. To God, the passage of thousands of years is equivalent to a mere blink of an eye. As stated in 2 Peter 3:8 (NASB), "But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day."

It is crucial for us to grasp the profound idea that God exists beyond the confines of natural time. His dwelling place is eternity, a realm where time loses its conventional meaning. The well-known phrase "God's time is the best" carries deep significance in this context. God operates according to His own timetable, which may differ significantly from our limited human perception. When He chooses to intervene or act, He momentarily enters our natural timeline. This means that we can identify specific moments when God has worked in our lives, such as a personal revelation or a transformative experience. These instances are intricately woven into the fabric of our own subjective understanding of time.

Allow me to share an extraordinary story that encapsulates the human struggle to comprehend God's timing and His seemingly delayed responses. This story centers around Lazarus, as documented in the book of John. Lazarus, a resident of Bethany, fell seriously ill, prompting his sisters, Mary and Martha, to send word to Jesus, seeking His immediate intervention. They firmly believed that Jesus possessed the power to heal Lazarus. However, Jesus responded in an unexpected manner. He proclaimed, "This sickness is not to end in death, but for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it" (John 11:4, NASB). Despite His deep love for Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, Jesus made a deliberate decision to delay His arrival, remaining in the place where He was for two additional days.

If we were present during that time, we might have found ourselves questioning God's intentions. Why didn't He rush to aid His dear friends? Why did He seemingly ignore their urgent pleas? It appeared as though He was unjustly delaying His response. However, as the story unfolds, we come to understand the divine purpose behind Jesus' delay. By the time Jesus arrived in Bethany, Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. Jesus performed a remarkable resurrection, demonstrating His authority over death and bringing unparalleled glory to God. This event served as a profound and powerful testimony to Jesus' identity as the Son of God.

The story of Lazarus offers us an invaluable lesson about the nature of God's timing. Sometimes, what initially appears to be a delay or an unanswered prayer is actually part of a grander plan. God's ways are higher than ours, and He works in mysterious ways that may initially elude our understanding. In those moments, it is essential for us to trust in His sovereignty and believe that His timing is flawless.

Thus, while Rolex watches may be highly regarded for their precision and craftsmanship on Earth, they hold no significance in the timeless realm of heaven. God operates beyond the constraints of natural time, and His timing is orchestrated perfectly for His glory and our ultimate benefit. Embracing this profound truth invites us to surrender our limited perspectives and fully trust in the perfect timing of the Divine.
