If You Could See Your Life, Which One Would You Choose?

Can you see your life?

Look at the images. I call them Tea Art. The left image shows molasses, vanilla-powered soy milk, and Swiss Miss chocolate. It’s beautiful, unique, and one of a kind.

Some of us lives are like this.

But it’s stagnant and a pleasure to look at. Many of us think our lives are beautiful. But they go nowhere and don’t help us.

The image on the top is my tea made for the image on the bottom. It’s not something you want to keep looking at, but it can nourish and warm me up on a cold day. Although it looks uninteresting, many would choose the life on the left. They have more to work with.

I love eating and cooking with coconuts. This coconut is beautiful on the outside. When I broke it, that’s what it looked like on the inside.

I was shocked because I couldn’t believe the inside was rotting and the outside was so beautiful. When I returned it, the male who sold it to me said, “That’s how some humans are. They are pretty on the outside but dirty and rotten on the inside.”

Which is your life?

Humans do possess the power to choose their lives. Some can see what lies ahead.

While others see hope and make the right decisions to give them the life they want. The sunset is beautiful, but after a few hours, it’s gone.

Which life is yours?

This is an almond tree. It is impossible to imagine what it was before it became what it is now. Some start from the tree below.

Others start from the tree above. You had a choice. Where would you start?

Life often doesn’t give some of us the best choice. Look at these two hearts.

Pain will visit no matter which way they turn. You must choose because this is what life gave you.

Which heart will be yours?

This is breadfruit.

It can be roasted or cooked.

Most Jamaicans enjoy roasting it. Then, they slice it thin, fry it, sprinkle it with salt, and enjoy. We call these breadfruit chips. It is really delicious when roasted and fried.

Some of us must put more into life to get what we want from life. The more you put in, the more you get back. The less you put in, the less you get back.

I hear many humans say they are faking it until they make it. Why fake it? My instincts say, “Fakes last longer than the real thing.” — Annelise Lords. Looking at the flowers below, my instincts are correct.

But real is alive and can live and enjoy life. Fakes can’t. Real knows happiness and is hardly lonely. The opposite is true for fakes. Real know life, which allows them to live better. The opposite for Fakes.

Which life are you living?

I have days when I wish I had wings like a bird. Then, I would fly away from all of the hell humanity shares.

Being in a cage, I will be fed and taken care of but have no freedom. With freedom come struggles, which strengthen us while teaching us more about life. I will take freedom. What about you?

Some of us start from a safe and comfortable place that we know.

Others start from hell. Who do you think will survive?

Some start somewhere easy with limited growth, freedom, and control.

Others come from the rock and are forced to make all of their life decisions. Where did you start from?

I am from the rock!

Some of us start from fire.

Some from water. We need each other to coexist.

Some of us choose life.

Life chooses some of us.

Did you choose life? Or did life choose you?

If your heart could speak, what would it say?

I chose the life I wanted, but life decided that it wasn’t for me. My life went how it should. I am happy with that.

What about you? Are you happy with how your life went?
