I Know“Zucky Boi” Is Stealing Your Time
The most valuable status update is the one we make in our own minds, not on a screen.

It started innocently enough. A quick snap, a casual post on my WhatsApp status. Nothing out of the ordinary, right? Little did I know, I had just pulled the trigger on a day-long digital binge that would leave me questioning my relationship with social media and my own mind.

As soon as that picture hit my status, it was like I’d sent up a flare to the digital world. “Hey, I’m here! Feed me content!” And Zucky Boi, did the algorithms deliver. One by one, notifications from other apps started rolling in. Each ping, each vibration, a siren call impossible to ignore.
Before I knew it, I was sucked into the vortex. Instagram reels, Facebook updates, Twitter threads — a never-ending stream of content tailor-made to keep my eyes glued to the screen. “Zucky Boi” ( I’ve affectionately dubbed the face behind this addictive machinery) had me right where he wanted me.
Hours slipped by unnoticed. The sun climbed high, then began its descent. And still, I scrolled.
And boom! The 7 PM Epiphany….
It wasn’t until 7 PM that reality came crashing down. I looked up from my phone, disoriented, as if waking from a trance. The day — my precious, irretrievable day — was gone. All those tasks I’d planned, the progress I’d hoped to make… evaporated into the ether of likes, shares, and fleeting dopamine hits.
The realisation hit hard: I’d let myself be puppeteer by algorithms designed to hijack my attention. But here’s the kicker — I couldn’t just blame “Zucky Boi” and his ilk. They might have built the maze, but I’m the one who kept running through it.
Okay, Now, Imagine, if you will, a company. At the top sits management, calling the shots. Below them, administration keeps things running smoothly. And then there are the employees, doing the day-to-day work that keeps the lights on.
Now, what happens when this hierarchy gets muddled? When employees start questioning every decision from above, or when administration tries to override management’s vision? Chaos, right?

Now, Read about your Mind’s Hierarchy
Here’s where it gets interesting. Our minds operate on a similar principle:
- Unconscious Mind (Management): The deep-seated beliefs, values, and patterns that guide our overall behaviour.
- Conscious Mind (Administration): Our awareness, decision-making, and immediate thoughts.
- Subconscious Mind (Employees): The automatic processes and learned behaviours that run in the background.
When this mental hierarchy stays intact, we’re focused, productive, and in control. But when it gets disrupted — say, by the constant barrage of stimuli from social media — we lose our way. Our “employees” (subconscious habits) start running the show, overriding the wisdom of our “management” (unconscious values and goals).
If you ask me, what would I call today? My answer would be-The Wake-Up Call.
Today was my wake-up call. I let the digital world scramble my mental org chart, and the result was a day lost to the scroll. But recognising the problem is the first step toward solving it.
Moving forward, I’m committed to re-establishing the proper order in my mental workspace.
It’s about setting boundaries, being mindful of my actions, and remembering that while social media can be a tool, it should never be the master.
Now, tell me : Has “Zucky Boi” been messing with your mental hierarchy lately?
Maybe it’s time we all took a step back, recalibrate, and remembered who’s really supposed to be in charge of our days — and our lives.

After all, the most valuable status update is the one we make in our own minds, not on a screen.
