I Have a Car

Life Is Good

I Have a Car

Millions of people experience the struggles of life daily.

It is so easy to vanish in the depth of thoughts that lead to complete loss of reality and force us to be paralyzed by the unknown future.

Bills, family issues, expectations, and societal status keep us in a circle of hustle, eat, sleep, rinse and repeat.

It is tiresome, and everyone reading this can relate. Unless you are a direct relative to Jeff Bezos in your case, I am not speaking to you.

Recent events have led me to think more negatively about life than I'd like. Yes. I am, in fact, human, and now and then, the happiest person in the world may experience episodes of doubt and life evaluation thoughts.

While I maintained a vibrational balance, there were days when I allowed my mind to wander into the not-so-positive spectrum. Let me advise you never to do that. Ever.

The minute we allow our mind to entertain thoughts that dwell on defeating possibilities rather than favorable ones, we sign up to travel down a rabbit hole that is not as entertaining as Alice's.

We recreate the bad over and over vs. deliberately creating a positive outcome. Those of you who have followed my writings and might even read my book "Retrain Your Brain, understand that I wholeheartedly believe that we are the creators of our own reality. While there are many realities in front of us, mostly not so great, we do not have to accept them.

If you are not happy with your current situation, whatever the reason may be, then you are 100% in charge of changing the course of your life. It might not be an easy task, but doable, nonetheless.

Let me get back to my story as I managed to veer off in another direction.

As I was driving after successfully loading my car with groceries for the week, I started to think about everything that wasn't going according to my liking. Before I knew it, my mind had turned a mouse into a giant Giraffe (yes, I am aware it is supposed to say elephant, but I like Giraffes), and I suddenly felt completely out of control.

You need to know that in 2021 I was involved in a car accident, and my car was in the shop for quite some time. During that period, my daughter and I often had to walk to the nearby CVS and get necessities which in Florida heat is quite horrid, as you can imagine. The day I got my car back, I worshiped my little blue Hyundai.

Fast forward to today and my dwelling on how miserable my life currently is because I had to figure out how to pay for my rent.

As I was driving home from the store and allowed my mind to go down the "poor little me" lane, the car in front of me abruptly stopped, and I had to hit the brakes hard to bring my little Tardis (yes. I name my cars), to a stop. Once my heart slowed down after the tiny shock of the "almost" impact, I thanked my car for taking the brake abuse and being such a good girl. That is when it hit me:

I HAVE A CAR

At that moment, I remembered how terrible the time was when I didn't have a car and the walks to CVS, which were torturing at best. I quickly realized that my life was great. Sure, I got scammed, and now I have to figure out my rent situation, but I DID have groceries in my car…. And, I have a car.

So many people are not that lucky, and I had to be reminded to appreciate all the things I did have at that time. Putting things back into perspective is essential to appreciate life and understand that shit happens now and then. It happens to the best of us, and yes. We are allowed to make bad choices sometimes. We learn from our mistakes and move forward.

S0 if you are having a bad day and things are not going so well for you, but you do have a way to transport your groceries, take a second and give thanks. Appreciate all the good in your life and say to yourself:

"Things might be a little different from my liking at the time, but…I HAVE A CAR.
