Welcome to this guided meditation for positive thinking and removing negative blockages.

Thank you so much, happy to be here. I hope this helps.

Please refrain from listening to this meditation while driving or operating any machinery. Be sure to find a nice, quiet location where you will not be disturbed. Follow the sound of my voice.

That shouldn’t be hard… your voice is so calm…

To begin, lie back and make yourself comfortable. Close your eyes and inhale, hold. Then exhale, hold.

Sometimes I forget how good a deep breath feels. How calm and relaxed it makes me.

Your mind is a powerful tool for creating the life you want. For it to exist in your life, you must first create it in your mind.

Wow… How badly there are some times when I wish that could be true in an instant.

For the duration of this process, I would like for you to remove the word “impossible” from your vocabulary. Either within you or aloud, repeat after me: All things are possible.

All things are possible.

And again.

All things are possible.

And again.

All things are possible.

Place one hand on your abdomen, the other on your heart. Sigh out all of your stress and your worries.

It sounds so good to think that all things are possible and it feels good to let it all out, but how much of it really helps? There are so many things in my life I’m trying to focus on, and I can’t ever seem to drown out the noise.

If your mind begins to wander into the future or into the past, put your focus back on your current breath. Be here, now. Whatever happened before this meditation, or whatever is meant to happen after, should not distract you from your current moment here and now.

Deep breath in… deep breath out. I guess that’s all I have to focus on, right? At least for the next ten minutes or so. Doesn’t sound too hard… I’ll quiet my mind and hope for the best.

Once you have gotten comfortable and evened out your breathing, I want you to picture a stairwell inside of your mind, spiraling down toward its center. There are ten steps before you. I’m about to count you down. As you take each step, you will fall deeper and deeper into complete and total relaxation. One… two…

It does suddenly feel like I’m floating, doesn’t it? How are you doing that? How are you making me feel like I’m flying? Why do I just feel so… calm?

Three… four…

Every deep breath I sigh out actually removes some of this tension in my shoulders.

Five… six…

I’ve never understood what anybody meant when they talked about the healing powers of the breath.

Seven… eight…

But the more I connect with mine and fall deeper into this relaxation, the more I understand.

Nine… ten…

Nothing down here causes me any stress or harm. Here, I am safe and whole. Retreated in my mind, hidden from the world, protected from all of its problems.

You have come into a complete state of relaxation.

Yes, I really have.

Envision yourself surrounded in a white light. It bathes you with its warmth and carries you even closer to a state of total peacefulness.

Does anything else exist right now? I do actually feel so complete here in this light…

You have fully left the real world behind. Everything in this light fills you with a golden, positive energy. Whatever stress or worries you carry in your day-to-day experiences do not matter here.

I’m so glad you agree with me.

I want you to commit to releasing all of your negativity now.

No promises, but I can try.

Down here, where you are so connected with your soul, you can create the life you want. Whether whispered aloud or thought with full intent, repeat after me: I am comfortable.

I am comfortable.

I am safe.

I am safe.

I am the creator of my own life.

I am the creator of my own life.

Whatever is meant for me is already mine.

Whatever is meant for me is already mine.

In front of you, a figure forms inside of the white light. As it gets closer, you recognize it to be —

Me. That’s me I’m looking at. Although —

Five years in the future.

Wow. I look so good. So peaceful and happy. So fit and well-groomed.

Your future self is here to listen to you, to offer you guidance on your path, and to help you try and get there. Your subconscious self knows where you want to be, and your higher self knows where you’re headed. Repeat, again: I am on my destined path.

I am on my destined path.

I am no longer standing in my own way.

I am no longer standing in my own way.

I am able to learn from past experiences.

I am able to learn from past experiences.

Spend some time connected with yourself and be honest about what you’re going through. Your future self is here to listen.

Oh, goodness, where do I even start? I mean… I guess if you’re technically “me,” you know what it’s been like recently, don’t you? Another depressive episode. More voices that tell me I’m better off dead. More nights spent all alone, crying into my pillow, wishing somebody could just… see me.

I know I’m not supposed to be negative down here, but there are so many things I’m scared about, and I don’t know how to relinquish control. I don’t know how to become — you. Look at you! You’re so strong, so charming, so relaxed. You have everything I want but don’t know how to attain. I’m here caught up in my emotions, trying to figure out my life, and you… you’ve already got it all sorted, don’t you?

I don’t know what to do. Where to go. How to get there. Five days from now, I face the idea of homelessness. How did you get out of that? Where did you find a job? How do you have all of this money?

I am on my destined path.

It feels good to see you, however you got there. I get that I’m supposed to “trust myself.” I guess I trust that everything is happening this way for a reason. For something greater. I don’t know where I belong in this life, in this world. I don’t know where I fit, and I don’t know what’s meant for me.

I hate all of this unknowing.

I am safe and I am whole.

I hate that no one really knows what, if anything, is in control outside of just… us. How am I supposed to trust everything ever thrown at me? How am I supposed to cipher through the good options and the bad? Where did you find love? When did you create this happiness?

I am the author of my own life.

It’s weird to think back on all the times I wanted everything to be taken away from me. I hated my job, I wanted it gone — then it left me. I hated where I lived and wanted somewhere new — then I ended up here.

Here.

Where is “here?”

I’m lost on this track as I try to find my way home.

I don’t understand how I got so turned around.

Anything is possible.

I don’t know how to go back and fix any of my mistakes and yet you… Look at you. You’re standing in front of me, I can see you so crystal clear and you have everything I’m pushing myself to achieve.

You’re so close but so far away.

In front of my grasp but out of my reach.

Every day I work toward being closer to you, closer to becoming you. I’m so jealous of your ability to look back at where I am now and see the growth. The purpose. Why it all happened this way.

I am no longer standing in my own way.

You mean everything to me, because you’re the me I can’t wait to be. You’re the reason I push forward, the reason I keep trying, because I trust that you are going to make all of this worth it. You with your success and your happiness.

I accept that this life comes with its ups and its downs.

But you are more put together than I have ever hoped to be.

Thank you for showing me that all I have to do is keep putting one foot in front of the other. That, ultimately, “trusting myself” actually gets me somewhere.

You know about the voices that tell me to kill myself.

I’m going to keep fighting against them.

It is now time to return to your conscious self.

No, please, I’d rather not. I feel so much safer here.

Say goodbye to your future self, and thank them for all of their time here.

I’ll keep fighting, I promise.

Return in your mind to the stairwell, then follow the steps back toward the surface as I count you up. With each one, you become more aware of your surroundings.

It doesn’t feel like I’m floating anymore. It feels like I’m sinking. How can I keep these positive thoughts going up here?

Maintain your even breathing as you reach the top and become more aware in your mind.

This is the awareness I’m scared of. This is the level where the voices come back.

When you are ready, you may open your eyes.

I’m not ready, but I’ll have to do it anyway.

Thank you for joining me on this meditation today. For the best results, practice this daily, or while you sleep. The positive affirmations will guide themselves into your subconscious mind whether you are awake for them or asleep.

I’ll do it.

I’ll keep listening to these affirmations and I’ll keep trying my best to connect and stay positive.

And I’ll always think of the person I see in the future.

For you, I fight this battle.
