what are dreams?

Dreams are a wonderful topic to invision any debate around. The unconscious mind’s ability to explore the world around us across time and to make minutes into hours or years into seconds. How can we truly understand what we cannot touch if we struggle to understand the true purpose of what we see? How are we supposed to know if it's a memory or a fantasy if we cannot remember for ourselves?

Dreams have long stood as a source of prophecy and secret meaning for many cultures throughout the time and space bound by the unseen universe. Everyone dreams but many simply do not recall as they embrace ignorance over understanding and let their life slip through their fingers. Some natural abilities let creatures share dreams and enjoy the revelation of ideals they seem to gather, however many which we are familiar with are lonely creatures unable to share in the deepness of thoughts and the heights of potential within this world.

We as a species and planet seem to either look to the future for hope, the present for opportunity, or the past for answers but fail to grasp the world in the divide between it all and the beginning and end of each chapter. We look at the words on the page and seem to value it as our whole world but fail to grasp the paper it was written on, the invisible text between the lines, the binding of the pages which allow our words to make sense to the limited imaginative folks who would live everyday through narrow eyes unable to see.

We would rather believe in myths and lies instead of finding the legends and truth in the world around us. We remain as birds bound in our cages unable to fly and unable to sing our melodies of flight. We reach for the stars but stay on the ground never truly seeing the colors of the universe. We stay to the black and white checkerboard and refuse to see all the colors in the breath of life from the middle of the two colors. We let the dullness of two colors guide our steps and view two as too much when the world has near infinite possibilities for us to explore. We view opinions as impossible but lack the idea that thought could be considered speech.

How could such a lack of creativity and a restricted view of the world lead to the beauty we wish to see? How could a life and death understanding lead to an understanding of what laid in the middle at the threshold? Could we truly feel joy if we did not understand anger and sadness? Could we understand humility if we did not know Greed and Pride?

A dream of freedom spoken through the ages has been an example of this blurred vision. At the beginning of each chapter the dream would hold the potential of endlessness but eventually always fell to lack of freedom. Freedom would be restricted against its very nature and others' wills would be imposed upon those who still dreamed. The dreamers would become shackled and crushed and the wheel kept on turning.

Another dream of joy was seen from the dawn of time but life naturally tries to squash such a grand dream. We believe that sticking to one choice and on one side will lead to what lies in the middle but dreams show us that thriving in the middle rather than living, leads to the prize within our dreams. Why not explore the world around you to find that middle instead of living on the side as told? Why not allow your mind to wander freely and find true answers?
