Inspiration story
Lessons from Dashrath Manjhi's life
1. When you decide to do something, stick to it, don't look at how long it took, look at the results.
2. When you start a work alone, people will say something. Focus on your dreams without caring about society and people.
3. When you truly love someone and want to do something good for them, you get motivation and strength from within to help you do that work.
4. Keep working day and night till you get the success you expect.
5. If you come into the world, do something that people remember and remember you for years.
6. It is very important to have strong determination, self-confidence, hard work, vision and goal to succeed in any work.
Dashrath Manjhi was born in 14 January, 1934 in Gehlour, Bihar.
He was also known as the mountain man of India.Dashrath Manjhi ran away from home at a very young age and worked in the coal mines of Dhanbad. Then he returned to his home and married Falguni Devi. While carrying food for her husband, his wife Falguni fell into a mountain pass and died. If Falguni Devi had been taken to the hospital, she might have survived, he thought. After this, Dashrath Manjhi resolved that he would single-handedly dig a way through the center of the mountain, and he built the 360-foot-long (110 m), 25-foot-deep (7.6 m), 30-foot-wide (9.1 m) Gehlaur. Started making a path from the hills. He said, “When I started breaking the hill, people called me crazy, but this strengthened my determination even more. "
When you have the determination to complete a task and you have made a desire to complete it, you don't think about what the world says.
He never equated his work with time to realize his dreams. Night or day, cold or hot, rain or sun, he continued his hard work without worrying about anyone and after 22 years his dream came true.
This road reduced the distance between Gaya's Atri and Wazirganj sectors from 55 km to 15 km. Manjhi's efforts were mocked but his efforts made life easier for the people of Gehlaur. Although he cut a protected mountain, which is punishable under the Indian Wildlife Protection Act, his effort is commendable. Later, Manjhi said, "At first the villagers teased me, but some of them gave me food and helped me buy tools."

Manjhi's efforts yielded positive results. With only a hammer and chisel, he single-handedly carved a road through a mountain 360 feet long, 30 feet wide and 25 feet high. This road reduced the distance between Gaya's Atri and Wazirganj sectors from 55 km to 15 km so that the people of the village do not face any difficulty in commuting. Finally in 1982, after 22 years of hard work, Manjhi completed his task. For this achievement, Bihar Government also proposed his name for Padma Shri in the field of social service in 2006. 22 years of hard work:
Dashrath Manjhi, devastated by the loss of his wife, mustered all his strength and decided to strike the mountain's chest. But it was not easy. In the beginning, he was called crazy. Dashrath Manjhi had said, 'The villagers initially said that I have gone mad, but their tricks encouraged me further'.
A single person can break a mountain!
Day and night between the years 1960 to 1982, Dashrath Manjhi was occupied by one thing in his heart and mind. Avenging the death of his wife from the mountain. And the passion continued for 22 years showed its results and the mountain gave way to Manjhi giving way 360 feet long, 25 feet deep and 30 feet wide.
